The dealers have already been issued the specs and color samples for the 2009's. They are taking orders for the '09's. As to my speculations as to the options I hoped would be added for '09, they were based on some observations and my own personal hopes. I held out buying an '08 based on those hopes and observations. I doubt that any dealer knew about specifications or materials changes ahead of next year model announcement; it’s a possibility that the company might increase the engine horsepower, or the quality or the intensity of the sunroof screen without a change in 2009 ordering guide. I tried to order a White Diamond 08 CTS with DI Engine, Premium Luxury Collection, All Wheel Drive, 18” Performance Package, Polished Wheels and a Spare tire (all options). Total MSRP was $49,590. My only request was NO SUNROOF since they don’t build an opaque sunroof cover; the Dealer told me that the only way to get my order through if I remove the Navigation System ... Read More...

One of the things I hope for if I can wait it out is that the airbag light gets moved back up onto the rearview mirror. I hate that orange light on the center stack. I am torn right now after attending an auto show last weekend. The cheese for us mice will be the bluetooth as you have suggested. Perhaps a sunroof fix although it doesn't bother me. I can't blame you rcantwell. If I had a car that had a bad engine, cracked block or anything like that in the first 1,800 miles BEFORE my first oil change even, I would have an attorney on it if necessary. Cadillac should give you a new car under the lemon law. I have a friend that returned not one, but two Lexus GS300 cars that had front end issues. Both cars would not align ... Read More...

I would be concerned. I really like the 2008 CTS. I am strongly considering buying the 2009 model. As a matter of fact, I am a raving fan. But this is the kind of post that will sway me to stay with the Japanese cars and get the G35. I recognize that Cadillac may need to work out some kinks in the new model. I think it depends on how many 2008's they have on the lot the month the 2009 ships. Cadillac dealers have been keeping their inventory just at the level to keep the 2008 CTS exclusive, just enough to meet demand. If they can keep that up, then they can just taper down their inventory on the 2008's and bring in the 2009 without a hitch and without discounting. But if ... Read More...
