2009 CTS All-wheel drive

I have been buying new GM cars for almost fifty years, both front-wheel and rear-wheel drive. I don't ever remember hearing any gear-train noise. This a first-time Cadillac. To me, the gear train seems noisy, especially for a so-called luxury car. My 2006 Impala SS made no noise at all. (front-wheel drive) The noise is noticeable when accelerating and also backing ... I called the dealer's top manager, I was very angry expressing my willing to take further steps; he suggested that I go to my neighborhood Cadillac and have their Parts department to replace the wrong part or order a new one and charge the invoice to him. After 6 weeks of waiting I think the problem is solved. When I came back home ... Read More...

Re: 2008 vs 2009 [sandy25]

I am also currently shopping the CTS and I asked the manger at the Cadillac dealership that exact question. He told me that you also have to take into account that there has been a price increase for the "09 of approx $1100-, so in effect, you are actually paying $3,000- less for the '08. If you trade it in 3-4 years what will the difference in value be? I don't know. Is ... Read More...

09! Re: 2008-09 CTS at GM Employee Pricing Plan [knotem]

"The upcoming discounts cover "nearly all" 2008 model-year cars and truck as well as some 2009 models. The promotion excludes 2008 medium-duty trucks but includes the 2009 Chevy Cobalt and HHR, the Pontiac Vibe and G5 and the Cadillac CTS." The fact that the 2009 CTS is included, I find VERY interesting..... - Ray Not surprised that most every 'left-over' 2008 ... Read More...

Re: 2008 CTS 4 / GM’s mentality – Garage door opener [bingoman]

I think rcantwell makes a valid point that including it only with an expensive package is not good. While people without a garage don't care, most people with a garage would want it even if they did not want some of the other options. For 2009 the sunroof appears to be a separate option, but the opener is still only part of a package, although three different packages ... Read More...

Article Comments - Riding in the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V

My legs feel somewhat like they did the first time I took Percocet. This is to say they feel like two 32-inch-long rubber bands — sweaty ones. My head inside the helmet feels thick and swollen like an overinflated football. And it's taking me so long to unfasten my helmet strap that I surely must be wearing winter gloves. I expected to be able to casually whip the helmet ... Read More...
