Re: cadillac 2009 cts di engine oil filter [buckets1]

I just recently was able to make an oil change on my 2009 CTS. I wanted to do it before the warning came on in case there were any metal filings left in the engine after manufacture. Here is how it went: 1. Thanks to previous post, I did locate the oil filter canister next to the dipstick. It requires a 24mm socket (which I had to purchase as I did not have one that big). 2. ... Re: Article Comments - 2008 Cadillac CTS First Drive [KarenS]

What is this crap I'm reading all the time here about "supporting the home team?" Why? So I can drive around in an inferior automobile? No, American car companies have a lot to prove to me before I ever purchase one. Their complete lack of innovation, quality, fuel efficiency, and reliability over the past 25 years has soured me to ever owning an American car, regardless ... Read More...

Re: 07 CORVETTE FOR 06 CTS - A GOOD EVEN TRADE? [xtranaut]

I am very sorry that you have a situation that causes you to have to consider this when you are happy with your vette. I now have my 2nd CTS. My first was a 2005 and this one is a 2009. I drove my 2005 48,000 miles. I had to replace my tires early; they were replaced at 25,000. At the 15,000 mile mark, I was hearing a roar. As it turned out, it was tire wear. I had been accustomed ... Read More...

Warranty for 2009 CTS

I just read in our local paper, The Tennessean, this morning that the government will only back the warranties for GM from March 30 forward. There was a column with questions of what if's and one of the questions was: Will the government back warranties before March 30? The answer was no. This is, of course, if GM goes bankrupt. I bought my CTS in January, therefore ... Read More...

0-60 mph times

I only have approx. 2800 miles on car (2009 cts awd 265 hp engine, auto trans) so I haven't really opened her up yet. Can anyone provide realistic 0-60 mph times for me to expect in the future if I decide to "gas it up" Also, is anyone experiencing the front door stops not being strong enough to hold door open? Meanwhile I'm enjoying the hell out of the car. I forgot how ... Read More...

Re: 2009 CTS Poor MPG [artmbgolf]

I had a 2004 CTS and a 2006 STS, both with the 3.6L V6 and thought both performed well and had good gas mileage. In October, when I went shopping for a 2009 CTS I thought I would step up to the new 3.6DI. The dealer actually gave me the the car to take home for a 24 hour test drive. I immediately noticed 2 things. First the power increase was noticeable and almost more than ... Read More...
