Re: 2008 CTS 4 / GM’s mentality – Garage door opener [bingoman]

I think rcantwell makes a valid point that including it only with an expensive package is not good. While people without a garage don't care, most people with a garage would want it even if they did not want some of the other options. For 2009 the sunroof appears to be a separate option, but the opener is still only part of a package, although three different packages ... Read More...

Re: 2008 CTS 4 / GM’s mentality – Garage door opener [rcantwell]

You are entitled to your opinion, but so are the folks at Cadillac, and their opinion was that not enough folks buying the base luxury model wanted a garage door opener (see 150mph above). Thats capitalism for you, the seller gets to choose what he thinks will sell. The buyer only gets to choose whether or not he/she wants to buy. There are a number of things that I ... Read More...

Having Cold Feet About Buying American

My name is Rob and I am new to this site. I post today because of my concern about the 2008 CTS. I absolutely love the design of the car, inside and out – there is no question that the 2008 Cadillac CTS is an award deserving car. BUT, as a driver of Japanese cars my whole driving career, I am having cold feet when it comes to purchasing an American car. Due to the many miles ... Read More...

Re: packaging \ maps Re: 2008 CTS 4 / GM’s mentality – Garage door [rayainsw]

I think, but am really guessing, that the QAF\performance_handling_package is designed for the 1SG STS, which is seriously upgraded from the base STS. If you wanted to put it on the base STS, it would probably cost a few thousand extra to upgrade the base STS before you could get QAF installed. I think when the STS was first put into production, they may have wanted ... Read More...

Re: 2008 CTS 4 / GM’s mentality – Garage door opener [sls002]

Wow sls, we agree on something. You got my point exactly. While I didn't buy the premiumn luxury package, I did buy the seating package, luxury1 package, competition package, and others. I just think that somewhere along the way Cadillac should have made the opener available without having to spend an extra 6 grand or so on options that I didn't need. The main reason ... 2008 Cadillac CTS

2008 CTS fair price

A Cadillac dealer, about 35 miles away from home, is trying to locate a CTS with all options, without a roof, emailed me saying that he might have one for me in few days. According to Edmunds.com the average loaded CTS is sold about $1,000 above invoice, and according to Costco their negotiated prices should be better than the average price at Edmunds. My question ... Re: 2009 CTS [bingoman]

I doubt that any dealer knew about specifications or materials changes ahead of next year model announcement; it’s a possibility that the company might increase the engine horsepower, or the quality or the intensity of the sunroof screen without a change in 2009 ordering guide. It’s also a possibility that Cadillac don’t want to announce all 2009 improvement ... Read More...
