I HATE THIS CAR!
Vehicle
2003 Cadillac CTS 4dr Sedan (3.2L 6cyl 5M)
Review
I purchased this car in Oct. 2003. In a year, this car has been in the shop 7 times. It first started out as "little" non-mechanical problems. The remote keyless entry quit working. Stereo has been replaced twice. Car was stuck in park (related to a problem with the brakelights, go figure!) Back carpet soaked from air conditioning drainage. Now car having problems starting. Dealer had for a week and couldn't figure out what the problem was. Said we needed to wait for it to become "more broke". Now besides the starting problem, car dies at traffic lights. Totally unreliable!! Have been stranded 5 times in the last week! Has depreciated $10,000 value in 1 year. Ridiculous!
Favorite Features
Exterior styling.
Suggested Improvements
Improve reliability. Interior door panels look extremely cheap. Need to re- design air conditioning vents. Glove box is tiny. Wheels are ugly.
unfortunately a poor investment

I purchased this car with the intent of owning for at least 10yrs, and after less than two, I'm worried it might not make it to 5yrs. Problems that have been fixed (thankfully under warranty): anti-freeze leak (bad cooler), fuel delivery problem (bad engine thermostat), no heat (bad vacuum to heater bypass valve), oil leak (bad oil pump), snapped clutch spring (replaced clutch assembly). Problems that the dealer says are "normal" and can't fix: random clicking of CD player, CD player doesn't work 100 percent, clocks not in sync, engine misses at random (not speed or gear dependent), and the clutch now pops/clicks at random while engaging in 1st gear.
Favorite Features
RWD and manual trans

Incompetent dealer service mechanics seriously need some training courses.
Sexy-Dumb Blonde of the Car World

2003 Cadillac CTS 4dr Sedan (3.2L 6cyl 5M)
Review
I have decided that this car is definetly the "dumb blonde of the car world." It is incredily sexy, however, its substance is yet to be determined. I am secretly hoping it will prove me wrong, since I am somewhat blonde myself. Maybe this will be the first time in history a manufactirer has made a sexy car that is reliable...then again, I will not hold my breath. I can not even begin to tell you how many "heads" my black sport model has turned. Having owned a number of German imports, I am definetly impressed with its handling. I really want this baby to prove all the import snobs wrong...come on baby...let's go!
Favorite Features
The look, the memory system, side mirrors going down each time car is placed in reverse.

Over the past five years I've owned five Lexus' including the ES300, GS300 and RX300, a Mercedes 240, and an Infinity Q45. (Love to trade cars!) The CTS is by far the most enjoyable car I've owned in a long time. It's great styling and quick manuevering make it a great car for me. I bought a black CTS with light grey leather interior. The only thing I will change is to add the complete wood trim package to add to the gearshift knob and steering wheel.
Favorite Features
Sharp style, driver friendly interior, quick acceleration, nice ride.
Suggested Improvements
More wood!

Bought the car in March 2003...mechanically, very sound...however, after a couple of months, noticed that the digital clock in the dash was not synchronized with the analog clock in the instrument panel...returned the car and they replaced the "cluster"...couple of months later, same thing....replaced cluster again...now the same thing again but they have acknowledged that Cadillac will not replace (still in warranty)...also, you will note around the rear plate and backup lights a lens...when you wash the car, the lens allows water in...

overall poor quality...do your homework before purchasing a CTS..

HAVE A MEMORY SYSTEM FOR THE REAR VIEW MIRROR-- NO BIG DEAL, BUT I WISH I DIDN'T NEED TO MOVE IT EVERYTIME MY WIFE DRIVES THE CAR.

I purchased this for my wife & I have been trying to get it from her ever since. The leg room for passengers is very tight and for a luxury car there is to much noise. (wind & engine) I have made two long rode trips an enjoyed each one, handles very well, love the navigation system. Most of all,the "LOOK" of the CTS is outstanding.
Favorite Features
Exterior design and interior gadgets.
Suggested Improvements
Reduce outside noise.
Excellent car

I've had my 2003 White Diamond CTS Luxury Sport w/ NAV for one year and love it. Power is great at 225hp, but the 2004 has 30hp more. If you need more that that, go for the CTS-V w/ 400hp (Vette LS6 V8). Drove one for 24 hrs last week and its a rocket! Great styling and comfort. There's no other car in its class that can match it.
Favorite Features
Styling, performance, luxury, NAV. CTS- V is a serious competitor against BMW's M5, but at a much lower price.
Suggested Improvements
Some central dash components kind of cheap and plastic. Could use a little more hp which was rectified in the 2004 model. Needs factory spoiler option.
Happy with CTS

I've had it for two years now and can't complain at all. Got the Copper Sunburst color, which gets LOTS of comments. No significant glitches with it after 30,000 miles.
Favorite Features
Feel of the steering. Ride support.
Suggested Improvements
More horses, though it's got enough right now.
Worse car I've ever owned!

I was one of the first to lease a CTS in Kansas City, MO. Love the look, but have endured poor quality problems. Paint peeled on grill at 10k. Cadillac would not fix under warranty. (Dealer replaced as "goodwill") A/C condensation flooded interior at 20k. Trim pieces have fallen off in trunk and interior. Front rubber air dam fell off as well as small rubber flaps by rear wheels.Power lock failed at 60k ($400 out-of-warranty repair). Idles poorly when cold (hook shakes).Only good things are comfortable seats and good highway mileage. Poorly placed cruise control buttons on bottom of steering wheel and where is the glove box light????
Favorite Features
Cool looks, comfortable seats, good mileage.
Suggested Improvements
Improve overall build quality. Pieces have fallen off because plastic rivets break -- use screws! Engine shouldn't vibrate. Improve confusing push buttons. Improve interior lighting. Cadillac hassled me when I requested help with peeling paint on the grill.
