Test Driver Ratings & Comments

Acceleration commentsUnder full throttle acceleration the Terazza upshifts at 5,800rpm, and there's no redline indicated on the tachometer. The engine gets pretty raspy above 5,500rpm, so the second to third upshift seems late. Upshifts are also a bit sloppy. It barely gets into third gear at the end of the quarter mile, probably due to the wide gear spacing.
Braking ratingAverage
Braking commentsUnder heavy braking conditions the car's wheels lockup too much. It feels like the ABS needs to pulse quicker to avoid the problem. Otherwise, braking is well controlled in terms of noise, dive and pedal feel. Distances were too long for a modern minivan however, which is why the Terazza only received an "average" rating.
Handling ratingAverage
Handling commentsThe steering and suspension work well for this class of vehicle. Both could be better, but neither is worse than the class average. The real limiting factor is the drivetrain, since the engine lacks the torque necessary to pull out of the final cones with gusto.
