Another Great 'Big' American Coupe
Vehicle
1995 Buick Riviera 2 Dr STD Sprchgd Coupe
Review
I bought this car from an old friend, and I remember the day he got it, so I know it well. I've had it for one month, and I find driving it very enjoyable. The SC-V6 is powerful enough to effortlessly pull this big coupe, the tranny shifts smoothly. Amazingly quiet inside, leather seating is comfortable and very roomy throughout. Slightly short on headroom- definitely can't wear my cowboy hat while driving. Mine has the power split bench-seat option with column shifter. Changed struts, mounts and boots, so suspension is like new. Car is getting custom paint job. I have 18" chrome wheels and tires on order. Will have windows tinted soon and upgrade speakers. Overall a fun car to drive!
Favorite Features
Sound system and A/C controls on steering wheel. Easy 1-touch cruise control. Supercharger. Pretty good gas mileage, but you best burn premium w/SC option. Above all, I love the somewhat eccentric styling and simple instrument panel layout. This is one of those love 'em or hate 'em cars. I love mine!
Suggested Improvements
Cup-holders would've been nice, and a super quality sound system, too. I would love to have seen a V8 option, like stuffing a 300+ hp Northstar engine under the hood, and slapping on some 17" or 18" performance tires and wheels. Oh well, a guy has the right to dream, right?

I bought my 1995 Riviera with 26,000 on it. It was pretty much trouble free until about 45,000 miles. Between 45,000 and 70,000 miles I spent about $5,000 on repairs. I really love the styling of this car, it's fast, ride is great, and I got 25-27 mpg on the highway. If you really want one, be prepared to spend a lot of money with your mechanic. You'll also need to be meticulous about scheduled maintenance. I sold mine in July of 2003. Fortunately if you're in the market for one, they're very reasonably priced.

Great ride, supercharged engine makes this bigger vehicle take off like a rocket!

I found a pretty much mint '95 Maroon (I swear if it was that ugly green or some dumb color, I might not have bought it) supercharged, fully loaded, from the factory chrome rims to the factory wood trim, (which adds so much character to the car) to the one touch sun roof, I just had to have this car. I'm going to be that guy at 50 who gets to say "Yup, I still got my first car and love this Riviera like it was the first time I laid eyes on it. We drove it cross country once. Boston to San Diego (2 week trip we will never forget) The Riviera made the trip even that much more fun. The seats are like sofas. If you can find a Riviera, buy it. I love my '95 Riviera.
Favorite Features
The car looks like no other car on the road, if you are lucky enough like me to find one with the factory wood trim on the dash, you can actually laugh at people that buy Bentley's and Rolls. The radio came with radio and temperature controls on the wheel, I love that... The supercharged engine is the best. The seats, front and back, are like sofas.
Suggested Improvements
I would like to get the windows more soundproof.

I Love this Pain

I just stumbled upon this beauty in a Dodge Dealer's used car lot, and got a great deal because I guess nobody wanted a big car. Lucky me! This car is my favorite ever. Power, handling, fun, and a real head turner. It's not like all the other cars that all look the same. I've been asked countless times to sell it, but I wont. She's got 140K now, and drives like the day I bought it. The engine is great. one warning, fun costs money! The car is expensive. Since it's 10 years old, things are starting to break, but I'll just get it fixed and keep driving.

When my dad rolled home with this beauty, I fell in love instantly. I because a Buick fan, both new Regals and old GSXs thanks to this car. From 60K to 160K miles, it was amazing. Since 160K, repairs starting coming, as can be expected, some which are expensive... but all in all, it's a great car, I loved it day 1, and I love it after 5 years. Supercharged 3800 is the best engine ever made (and I'm an import junkie)
Favorite Features
looks, power, handling, gadgets. it's loaded, power seats windows mirrors you name it, it has it. the 3800 S/C really leaves some good burnouts. it handles like a go kart, not a 3,500 lb Buick coupe. power window motors are lightning fast!!
Suggested Improvements
it's hard to drive with your arm out the window. the stock stereo is a joke, seriously. i can't say enough how bad it is, especially with the windows down, you can't even hear it. fold-down rear seat?? BUICK NEEDS TO REVIVE RIVS!!

I love this car. I love to drive it on the open road. It's great for passing semi's.The only thing I don't like is the slope in the rear window. On a grey drizzly day it's hard to see behind you.
Favorite Features
I love the supercharged feature the most.
Suggested Improvements
Come up with a less slanted rear window.

GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY. SUPER CHARGED POWER. MOST COMFORTABLE CAR I BEEN IN. EVEN THOUGH A COUPE VERY ROOMY. STOCK STERO NOT SO GOOD. VERY RELIABLE. OVERALL GOOD CAR, NOT MUCH DEMAND FOR RESALE HOWEVER.
Favorite Features
My favirote featueres are the comfortable leather seats w/Lumbar supports and the powerful supercharged engine w/the smooth shiftin automatic transmission.
Suggested Improvements
The inside could of used some wood trim, and the tachometer is hard to see. Also if they could have made the car a little lighter.

I personally never really thought the exterior design of this car was too great. Other people just love it and I get many compliments on it. Regardless of my feelings of the exterior, I love this car. It is very fun to drive. Accellerating around corners is the best! Goes great in snow and handles well on icy Wisconsin roads.
Favorite Features
Steering wheel controls for temperature and sound system
Suggested Improvements
Shorten the back end a little and add about 2" to the roof for more head room.

This has been a wonderful car... it still looks as good as brand new and still drives and handles wonderfully. I've always gotten many compliments on it, and in the eight years I've had it, have had no major repairs needed. Brakes, battery, general maintenance.
Favorite Features
Leather interior; sound system; looks.
Suggested Improvements
Start making them again so I can buy a new one.
