EDITORS' RATINGS OVERALL SCORE:

Overall

RATING

Minivanesque versatility isn't enough to overcome the Rendezvous' other issues. From handling to ride quality, it doesn't excel in driving dynamics, but Buick's build quality is better than some of the other GM divisions.

DETAILED EDITORS' RATINGS

Dynamics

RATING

Considering its car-based roots, steering and handling are not impressive. Engine performance is adequate. The powerful 3.6-liter V6 is gone this year as is the AWD option.

Comfort

RATING

Ride comfort is soft, but perhaps too floaty for some.

Function

RATING

The rendevous is nearly a minivan, and provides more functionality than most SUVs. Lots of storage areas and simple controls. The HVAC and stereo controls are a bit old-school.

Design/Build Quality

RATING

Awkward exterior styling isn't as bad as it's Aztek cousin. Build quality is above average for a GM vehicle.
