Re: Air Conditioner Condensor: Paid for by Buick even though out of warranty [buickrdv02]
Please help--any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The condenser on my 2002 Rendezvous has a hole in it and both my local Buick dealer and the GM Customer Service rep say that it is a wear and tear issue caused by the mileage and not a problem with the car. I now have 87,200 miles on the car, but all are highway miles. I'd like to know the source for your comment ... Read More...

Re: Is the Rendezvous a good buy???? [nickx281]
Hi, Nickx281, I have already bought one (a 2003 CXL). My post in #1199 was in response to another poster who had asked whether the Rendezvous was a good buy. I am very sorry to hear about your difficulties with your car. I haven't had nearly the trouble (yet), but I don't have the kind of confidence in the car that one should given the price and the fact that it's a family ... Read More...
Re: Is the Rendezvous a good buy???? [da_rookiee]
As you can see, opinions vary widely about the Buick Rendezvous. Some people love 'em; some hate 'em. Me? I'm in the camp who loves my Rendezvous. I purchased a 2002 Rendezvous CXL new. I have had 2 major problems: leaking head gasket and AC condensor. The head gasket leak occurred during the 3 year, 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty and was replaced at no cost ... Read More...
Re: Is the Rendezvous a good buy???? [da_rookiee]
I also had a 2002 RDV and it was a nightmare. What was worse was how Buick and GM treated me when I was having problems. I was "helped" into a 2005 RDV and regret that I caved in to their tactics every time I get in to this car. It has the third row seat and the only people who can manage to get and sit back there are small children. Go to consumer reports and research to find ... Read More...
Re: Is the Rendezvous a good buy???? [da_rookiee]
For the amount of money the Rendezvous costs, its a terrible buy. I bought a brand new one back in 2002. Since then, after the 3 year warranty period was over, I had to replace the A/C which cost me $900 and today I had to replace the ignition cylinder costing another $450. These are items that should not break within such a short period (never had any other vehicles ... Read More...
RE: AC Condenser [jay14]
Jay, Go to the regular edmunds RDV forum and start reading at post #3955.This RDV owner was from Canada. buickrdv02, "Buick Rendezvous" #3955, 9 Jun 2005 2:58 pm Earlier this year I was at a large midwest Buick dealer and a salesman there said that the #1 problem for 2002 model RDV's sold there was failing AC condensors.Buick knows theres a condensor problem and ... Re: AC Condenser [atstpier]
This forum was a big help to me last week when our mechanic told us that our 2002 Rendezvous condenser would have to be replaced. H was about to charge us over $1000 for the job and I suspect that price was high although they are usually pretty good on price, because he was not really familiar with how much time it would take. After reading the notes on the forum, I called ... Read More...
Re: 2002 Buick Rendezvous CXL with 41,000 miles -- Few Problems [mack2099]
Hi, I would suggest you take your car to a glass shop and ask them to super glue the mirror on for you. I have been an auto. claims adjuster for over 30 years. I am not happy with my new 04 Rendez and am working to trade it very soon. There are far, far, too many issues with these cars, my tires are so rocking hard, it's unbearable and giving me spine problems. They are affinity ... Read More...
