Buick Regal LS

2003 Buick Regal LS 4dr Sedan (3.8L 6cyl 4A)
Traded in a Honda Accord for this
Regal. I'm impressed by its comfort,
convenience features and solid feel.The
3800 engine is a pleasure to drive,
especially on the highway. The styling
is clean and refined.
Well, the car is now 9 years old. Bought used "as is" and now have the following problems pending: instrument cluster lights out, repair cost is nearly $500; ignition switch key/light alarm sounds without key in ignition or lights on, cost about $375; transmission slipping in Drive, not diagnosed yet. Instrument cluster defect was common, subject of class action lawsuit when cars were under warranty, now settled and the owner is liable for all expenses. But the car is comfortable and supposedly economical with good gas mileage.
Mostly senior drivers own Buick Regals or Lesabres or Park Ave. models, so most cars are in good condition - but beware of potential problems if buying used.
