Summary

What Edmunds.com says

A crowd-pleasing large sedan that offers space, safety and surprisingly good mileage in a high-value and economical package.

Pros

Room for six, excellent mileage from V6, smooth ride, huge trunk, solid crash test scores.

Cons

Dated interior styling, can be slow when fully loaded, no split-folding rear seat.

What's New for 2004

The LeSabre remains largely unchanged, with new colors and a few new options like rain-sensing wipers the only notable differences.

Review

When I bought this car the main internet complaints were loud turn signals and loud fan noise on high blower. Four years of non-stop daily driving in city and cross country, that is still the only complaint about the car. It has every electronic gadget available and all still work the same as new; no repairs, no breakdowns! I have had no other car that has been this reliable for this long with nothing going wrong.

Favorite Features

Everything is automatic and the controls on the steering wheel make driving and playing with the toys safe and fun

Suggested Improvements

Dampen the blower noise and tone down the turn signals and tighten the front end.

Review

We bought our 2004 Celebration Package new and loved it for 59,915 miles. A month ago someone pulled out in front of us (ice & snow) and it's now totaled. We have looked at cars for a month now and are disappointed that Buick doesn't make the LeSabre or the Park Avenue. Minor problems (post warranty) we have had include burned out heated seat, broken cruise cable, and a few switch/indicator lamps burned out. The OnStar didn't work when new and the dealer took 6 months to fix it, but in the end we got a call from OnStar when the airbags did their job! They sent the police right to the intersection where we were, thanks!

Favorite Features

Good gas mileage. We loved the heads- up-display, exterior temp in the center (where it belongs!), oil-life remaining, instantaneous mpg, digital read outs of coolant temp and battery voltage. We haven't found any new GM cars with these features.

Suggested Improvements

The tire inflation check was vague, but it did sort of work. Buick blew it when they dropped LeSabre & Park Avenue, and didn't replace them with any real luxury cars. Replace all the dash incandescent bulbs with LEDs.

Review

This car is driven by wife for pleasure. While mileage may seem like a lot they are not city miles but thruway type driving.

Favorite Features

Wheel radio and cruise controls. Color is silver and paint job is great. No scratches or dents. Excellent exterior and interior. Detailing will make it look like new. Like driving a limosine.

Suggested Improvements

Car does not need any improvements. Maybe a rug cleaning at best along with some freshning up and cleaning some upolstry spots.

Review

I purchased the car with 28,000 miles on it. It has a great ride and is very easy to steer with the light steering. The car is trouble free an fun to drive and reliable. The only low mark is would give is that the seat belt buckle is hard to locate and is a bit of a struggle to connect. I'm sold on Buick construction and reliability.

Favorite Features

Very easy to steer and very quiet.

Suggested Improvements

Extend seat belt buckle where it comes through the center of the seats.

Review

I bought my 2004 LeSabre last year, and I have to say I am very happy with the vehicle. Getting about 28 mpg overall. ABS and Trac Control features are excellent. Have had issues with the climate control. It doesnt seem to work efficiently. The dual zone control doesnt really give you a big difference from driver to passenger. GM needs to look at this and find out what the issue is.

Favorite Features

Smooth ride like a Cadillac!

Suggested Improvements

Investigate the Auto Climate control system.I know that there is something wrong with it , but it throws no failure codes!
