I have two issues; don't know if they're related. 2003 Buick LeSabre Custom 93000 miles 1. I have a grinding or moaning sound in the front end, when driving about 30-50 mph. Even a slight turn to the right, stops the sound. Outside this speed range, the noise is greatly reduced or gone. Two people suggested it is likely a CV joint/axel. I was thinking it might be a wheel hub. ... Read More
I have a 2003 Buick Lesabre Custom and the fan only works after hitting a bump. Where is the module located, does it need replacing or is there a short? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Hello everyone, I drive a 2003 Buick Lesabre limited and recently (2 days ago), whenever I start my car, the engine is really rough. The car is rumbling, and the engine seems like its about to shut off then it keeps going, still rumbling. This problem continues as I drive. When I try to accelerate, the car jumps and stutters during acceleration (check engine light goes on). However, when the car ... Read More
Buy replacement blower. I got mine from Autozone, because I was in a hurry when it finally quit reacting to being bumped. Autozone was the only stores in the area that stocked that motor despite its covering lots of Bonneville and leSabre years. Other stores were happy to order one in for me in 1 day or 2 days. Autozones sold enough only 2 of their stores had them in stock ... Read More
The blower worked this morning on the way to work, but didn't when I got in the car at the end of the day. I then thumped the bottom of the heater box like you suggested and the blower came on. Can you explain further what I need to do to fix this permanently?
Our 2003 Buick LeSabre is behaving similarly only the blower comes on fine sometime and at other times does not blow. There is cold air when moving down the road, but not being blown by the blower. I haven't tried tapping the bottom of the heater box or checking the contacts, but I will try that. Thank you for the post.
With the car running or the key ON and the blower set to a higher speed, tap your foot up against the bottom of the heater box--just to the right of the hump on the passenger side. Most likely the blower will make electrical contact and start running. The carbon blocks that rub the commutator to carry the power to the magnets lose contact due to wear. If not that, then ... The blower has been working just fine but today when I cranked the car, it would not come on. No warning. There is some cold air coming through but the blower is not producing flow. Any idea how to troubleshoot?
Having the same problem with my 1993 Buick LeSabre Custom. I think I figured it out today actually. If you disconnect the battery it will reset everything so it works for awhile but then it will stop at some point again. But the other day when my AC was working I noticed the Auto and Dual Zone buttons were lit. Today only the Economy button was lit and I couldn't get ... Read More
I had that happen in my 2003. I thought it was from a cold start and I didn't wait for all of the lights to go out on the dash. You know, that computer stuff, still checking itself out. Another time it was after a long drive and we arrived at the motel and putting in reverse the tranny wasn't engaged and revving the engine up revealed a clunk and then ... Read More
Apparently, YES it's a problem!! I have a 2003 with 78K and the cap needs to have special attention to make sure it's secure OR you WILL get a check engine light. Once the cap is secure, the warning will go away after a few start-ups. And unfortunately if the gas cap needs replaced, your Auto-Zone replacement won't work....it MUST be a GM cap. Fred
No, the blower motor has not been replaced. I'm disappointed that the Buick technicians have not been able to repair the problem. Is there some place I can check to see if other owners have the same problem?
I have a 2003 Buick LeSabre with an air conditioner problem that the dealer has not been able to repair. The air conditioner blower rarely comes on when the car is started but after several minutes, sometimes nearly an hour it will began to work. On other times when it is not working I can make a sharp turn either clockwise or counter clockwise and the blower will begin to work. ... Read More
When its blowing hot, you should see that the AC compressor is not turning. I think its the high pressure AC sensor. When its not working, try taping/hitting the switch (ask some mechanic to show you where it is, should be on the AC high pressure line near the compressor). If the compressor comes on, then it the switch. The switch is about $70 from dealer and should not be that ... Read More
Wondering if you found solution to your AC problem? I have a 2003 LeSabre with same problem. Car only has 15,000 miles on it. The AC worked great when I bought it in April 2008, About 2 weeks ago, the AC started blowing hot and cold intermittently. Had the system checked and fully recharged - they can't find anything. The blower always runs when I turn it on - but sometimes ... Read More
Unlike your blower being intermittent, my AC blower always works, the air is just sometimes warm. I figured out it must be the AC high pressure switch that's the problem. When it wasn't cold, just tapped the switch and it started to blow cold. So I have to replace the switch in the high pressure line. I think its about a $20 part from the dealer.
Any luck with this problem. i have a 97 doing the exact same thing. Blower motor runs great when you start it up. Turn the car off and on and the blower with not come on. Very intermittent. I also believe it is a senor/ground. It is driving me nuts. thanks, bill
Any body know what may be causing my AC to not blow cold one day and then work the next time I restart? Its intermittent. Could it be the outside light or temp sensor? Thanks.
My AC is not blowing cold on my 2003 Buick LeSabre Limited. It was intermittent about 1 month ago and now has just stopped all together. Also, the blue light on the temp dash control is now out but the red light still works. Further, the lights on the dash fan control now don't work either. Could it be a bad electronic dash AC control panel or a freon leak? Any ... Read More
Could be broken heater wire in one of the three element padds in the seat. Could also be the box under the seat that controls the power to the seat when the switch on the door calls for heat. If you are doing it yourself oriented, I read about people switching the boxes from passenger seat and driver seat to diagnose that as the possible cause. However many people have broken ... My pump comes on and operates about five seconds and there seems to be no change in the ride; but I have a very slight rattle in the area of the right rear wheel well. I am not familiar with the Buick system; do they use standard air shocks under computer control? Could I have a shock gone bad? Please any comments at all. Thanks
I would like to buy a used car - Buick LeSabre. The details are, 2003, with 85,000miles. It was once used for business purpose. I am really a freshman in Buick even in car, could any kind people give me some suggestion for this car? by the way, the price is asked 8500 dollar.
Does anybody know how to fix my 2003 Buick LeSabre heads up display (HUD)? It is intermittent and very dim when it does work. If it does display, its only for a short time and then gets dimmer and dimmer until you can't see it anymore. The position control works and I have tried adjusting the intensity will no success. Have about 55k miles. Thanks.
Mys 2003 Les with cheap Goodyears has no problem, there are tsb's out there about the issue relating to this being more prevalent with the lite weight suspension components, as mentioned a road force balance is important and there is even a suggestion of replacing front hubs and bearings.Even a slight runout is felt in the car.
Hello fellow members! I am new to this discussion, although not new to Edmunds.com, which I have used off and on for the last ten years. I have a 2001 Custom LeSabre, which I bought Certified Pre-Owned in 2003. I was and still am very happy with my purchase - the car has been rock-solid since I've had it. I just took it in for the 60,000 mile Maintenance, and for ... Read More

Eureka ! Finally someone with the same problem that I have with my 2003 Limited LeSabre. Three visits to the dealer has not solved the problem. Battery under the left rear seat. They haven't checked that one out as yet. The problem - - - intermittent noise behind the driver when making left or right turns.
Dose anyone know why our 2003 Buick LeSabre Limited Celebration Ed keeps on blowing digital AC/Heater Control, Head Up Display, and seat heater ckt fuse IGN 3 located under rear seat? Blows when trying to start car with AC/Heater set on Auto. Dealer has it a third time now. Second time, said brown wire under seat to heater was shorting out on cushion coil so they rerouted wire. Still have problem. ... Read More
My in-laws have a 2003 LeSabre Custom with 27,000 miles. When lightly braking while turning left or right you can hear a loud CLUNK which seems to come from the right front wheel. If you go to this website you can get an artists conception of some of the future Buick models. This includes a 2006 rear drive, a 2005 Regal and a 2005 Lesabre. Pretty good pictures/drawings. I just purchased a used 2003 LeSabre Custom. I want to add the XM radio to the Buick, but I want to use the existing GM radio without installing an aftermarket unit like the Delphi. Can't really yet say I have been entirely pleased with the brand switch. New LeSabre has had only 1500 miles and so far had 12.5 mpg city mileage and a rattle while in drive. Dealership was responsive and changed the torque converter. Mileage has improved only slightly and still don't seem to have the pickup I did with my old GrMarquis. This Buick is easier to park and I seem to ... Read More
Hello, I just traded my 2001 Buick Century for a 2003 LeSabre. The LeSabre is a definite upgrade. One thing different though is the air conditioning. It cools but it seems like the air is humid. The Century seemed to have a better a/c. Any ideas? Thank you!
I am considering purchasing a new Buick LeSabre and took a test drive today in a Limited Model. I liked the Car except I thought that I heard a lot of road or wind noise from the driver's side.
