2000 Buick LeSabre Custom 4dr Sedan
Do not ever ever think of buying this car. Power windows were cheaply made and they will all stop working. Cost is $400-500 to repair each window and that does not guarantee it will not happen again. Only fix is to permanently lock windows so they can never be used but how safe or logical is that? Apparently Buick does not care - never issued a recall because there is/was no safety issue. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!
a class action lawsuit should be started - just read all complaints online
The window regulators were terrible, but if you ever have a problem again simply order a 3rd party window regulator (that will NOT break!) on rockauto.com for $50 and you should be able to find someone who will install it for another $50.
That's a lot cheaper than $250-350 for the AC Delco part....
$500 is a bit high unless you live in a large city where hourly rates are high, and even then it's high.
I had a 2000 lesabre, changed the oil every 5k, got new brakes and rotors and tires and a battery.
We finally got rid of the car with 160k because we never fixed a couple windows and the interior got moldy and smelly, but in retrospect it would have been wise to fix them.
Quite simply, the cars reliability far outweighs the bad window regulators.
Oh and did I mention I'd get 40mph on trips using cruise control too?
