It's nice that they offer a discount off their profit on a new car; why now fix the one they didn't build right, that they've known has a problem since 1998? I asked them to pay the parts and/or labor cost for the repair on my intake manifold. They lost track of my calls through the first cycle. Months later some nasty, MBA type wannabe manager came through with the same ... Read More

My dad owns a 1998 Buick Lesabre with 58,000 miles on it. Last nite as they were leaving my home, they got into the car and it wouldn't start. Tried jump starting. No luck. The key turns, all the lights, bells and whistles indicate all is normal.. however, when the ignition is completely engaged, not a sound. He removed the starter and took it to the dealer and it checked out ... Read More

Whoops! Here's the details................ Summary: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 3800 V6 (L36) ENGINES AND CERTAIN DELPHI FUEL PRESSURE REGULATORS, THE REGULATORS HAVE A MUCH HIGHER THAN USUAL RATE OF FUEL LEAKS. A LEAK CAN ALLOW FUEL TO ENTER THE INTAKE MANIFOLD THROUGH A VACUUM LINE. IF THE ENGINE DOES NOT START WHEN CRANKED, THE FUEL FROM THE LEAKING REGULATOR AND A MISTIMED SPARK CAN CAUSE A BACKFIRE. buying a '98 LeSabre
Written by: wgarider on Apr 11, 2005 1:22:13 PM
Hello, I am about to buy a '98 LeSabre - the car is in great shape and has only 55K miles on it. I've been reading here about all the suggestions and preventative measures other owners are taking but I'm a bit confused about the recall issued in Feb. of 2004 - http://www.automotive.com/1998/49/buick/lesabre/recalls/34513.html. Is this recall to address the plastic plenum problem I've read about? Thanks!

My wife has an Uncle who is selling his '98 Custom LeSabre with all the bells and whistles. He will sell it to us for $13K. The car is in excellent shape, been garaged and has only 24K miles on it. I used to sell these cars in 1998 but I don't remember much about any recalls, problems, etc. Should we or shouldn't we??? This is the question. Any feedback would ... Read More

I thought I would post my review of the 2000 Lesabre now that I have had it for 1 year. First a bit of background: Age 35, married, 3 kiddos. Traded in a 1994 Toyota Camry for the Lesabre. I wanted something bigger and more comfortable for my 54 mile round trip commute into Atlanta from the N.E. suburbs. Before buying the big buick, I drove an Avalon, V6 Camry, VW ... Read More

Just bought 1998 Buick Lesabre Custom, Did not hit , drag or run over any objects, just in front of right passenger wheel, moulding came loose, screw in panel can be seen. Has anyone had this problem with Buick Lesabre. Also back window, drivers side will not roll down, saw this on two or three Buicks while shopping for them, anyone else with this problem?
