    Written by: atsbc03 on Dec 27, 2011 10:28:14 PM

I have read through the posts here and have checked a few things as I could (it's in the 30s here and hard to work outside the vehicle) but am not sure exactly what to do or where to go. First off, I have a 1998 Buick Lesabre Limited that was recently purchased. It has a digital temperature control as well as passenger side controls. The passenger side controls seem to ... Read More

First off I would like to thank this forum for your help fixing my 1998 Buick Lesabre's AC. I had the classic programmer issue with the air blowing out of the defroster, and floor only. $1.60 at my local NAPA, and about an hours worth of time and my air is working great out of the vents as it should... Now another small issue has started, when I first start the ... Read More

I posted this in the Answers section as well, so sorry for the repeat! I have a silver 1998 Buick LeSabre that has many, many electrical problems. The first problem started when the battery holder broke off inside my main electronic transmitter (I guess you could call it "keyless entry," since it has the lock/unlock buttons) and the spare just stopped working altogether. I replaced the battery and everything and still ... Read More

  • 1998 Buick Lesabre MAP Sensor Voltage

Written by: Schmegalhof on Feb 6, 2009 5:20:08 AM

I have the "Check Engine" light staying on. I had it scanned and it came up with the MAP sensor. I check the voltage from the positive terminal of the harness connector to ground and it reads 11.5 Volts. Should this voltage be closer to 4-6 volts like it says in the 1995 Buick Service Manual or did they increase the voltage on the 1998 model? If it should be 4-6 ... Read More

I have a 1998 LeSabre and the A/C stopped working. I replaced the compresser just last year. As near as I can tell, the compressor is not ingaging when it is turned on. I checked the fuse at the drivers side and it is OK. I watched the area at the pully and nothing happens when the A/C is turned on and then off.

This morning the word "Security" light on the panel stayed on after I started and drove my 1998 Buick Lesabre a little ways. Why? What does that mean? It drives so good, it has about 90,000 miles on it. I love my Buick but I'm concerned about this Security Light. D.C.

It's nice that they offer a discount off their profit on a new car; why now fix the one they didn't build right, that they've known has a problem since 1998? I asked them to pay the parts and/or labor cost for the repair on my intake manifold. They lost track of my calls through the first cycle. Months later some nasty, MBA type wannabe manager came through with the same ... Read More

Hello, I am about to buy a '98 LeSabre - the car is in great shape and has only 55K miles on it. I've been reading here about all the suggestions and preventative measures other owners are taking but I'm a bit confused about the recall issued in Feb. of 2004 - http://www.automotive.com/1998/49/buick/lesabre/recalls/34513.html. Is this recall to address the plastic plenum problem I've read about? Thanks!

I wanted something bigger and more comfortable for my 54 mile round trip commute into Atlanta from the N.E. suburbs. Before buying the big buick, I drove an Avalon, V6 Camry, VW ... Read More
