  It is just like Mr Shiftright said. The crankshaft sensor has two wires going to it and the sensor itself is inside the rim of the crankshaft balancer. I believe that the 1992 has a thickness gauge that is used with it for installation to give the right gap between the sensor and the balancer.   I do not know about a jumper in the assembly line diagnostic connector. I remember a black tube near the battery but don't recall what it was. What you really need is a Helm service manual for that year Buick LeSabre.   1992 Buick LeSabre serpentine belt broke, was replaced, now car won't start ~ OBD code 58, fuel enable circuit. Car never had remote keyless entry, owner has 1 door key and 1 ignition key (Passkey). How to reset circuit? Is there a procedure to follow if you don't have the remote transmitter? Thanks

  Sorry Mike. Believe it. I had a 1994 LeSabre that the tranny went out at 89,000 miles. Did just what yours is doing only your's lasted longer than mine.   I still think you need to check the bright/dim switch. The twilight sentinel should work the same on both.

  It does make a click when you switch between high and low beams. Also, the twilight sentinal stays on for a pretty long time, even when set on low. Would that have anything to do with it?

  You can check for voltage at the light bulb socket to a ground (not the other wire in the socket) when on low beam. OR you can check the switch for high/low beams. which I think is on the bottom of the steering column connected to the turn signal arm at the top by a wire link that moves the switch.   My 1992 Buick LeSabre has an issue with the headlights. The brights work just fine, but the regular headlamps do not go on at night. I have running lights during the day, but when it gets dark, no lights. What would cause that and how do I fix it? I've already gotten a traffic ticket for driving with my brights on! Any help is very much appreciated.

  My tape player has started "dragging the tapes". I'm guessing I need to replace the whole radio system? If I do, I would like to get a deck that has a cd & cassette player.
