Good morning jehrhart, Have your headlights stopped working altogether, or is it that they no longer adjust automatically between the daytime running lights and headlamps? Also, were you planning on getting this looked into? Best, Sarah GM Customer Service

  • Buick LaCrosse defect in intermediate shaft

    Written by: judy63 on Jan 27, 2012 11:10:35 AM

I got an estimate today for $450 to replace the defective intermediate shaft in my Buick. I am upset because there is no recall for this part and it's defective in, not only Buicks, but the following GM models: 2001-2004 Buick Regal, 2005-2008 Buick LaCrosse, 2000-2008 Chevrolet Impala, 2000-2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, 1998-2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue, and 2004-Pontiac Grand Prix. It seems to me that GM had a known defect in the ... Read More

This is most likely due to a faulty HDM Module (Headlamp Driver Module). It can be located in the fuse panel on the left hand side of the engine compartment to the left of the fan belts, it will be location #35. These are common problems on 2005-2007 Buick Lacrosse model years. You can get one at the dealer for $48 or an aftermarket version at Advance Auto Parts for $35. ... Read More

I'll also second that opinion that something is wrong. What type of surface and road conditions existed? I'm unfamiliar as to what systems yours employs. ABS, traction control, electronic stability? These systems work together if you have two or three. And can vary by vehicle a bit in exact action. An 09 Malibu I had, it had all three and according to manual if a wheel lost traction it would automatically ... Read More

I took delivery of my '10 CXS in the middle of May. As I was driving the car home I noticed a vibration in the seat and the steering wheel. Upon returning to the dealer, they rebalanced all of the wheels (road forced). The following week I took the car to Baltimore via the interstate. At speeds of 52mph to 70 the vibration at both end was still there but not ... Read More

Just keep in mind, that while I don't like the ES350 or LaCrosse because of their ultra soft suspension and boring/sloppy handling and driving characteristics, just my personal taste of course, the ES350 is 4 years old now and its design/style age is really beginning to show and is in badly need of a redesign, but that most likely won't happen until the end of 2011 as a completely redone 2012 ... I always had it serviced in a timely manner but I started hearing a whining sound in steering. The power steering fluid was slowly leaking out of the car. I have a 2007 LaCrosse which has a standing idle of around 750 RPM. However, after accelerating over 25 mph, when I back off the accelerator, the engine returns to idle at about 1000 rpm. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/26/in-the-autoblog-garage-2008-buick-lacrosse-su- per/ With all these things on our mind, we found the LaCrosse Super to be a vastly different vehicle from the base LaCrosse, and were pleasantly surprised at what the Super brought to the road. The performance gurus took a pillow-soft platform and made it stiff and compliant by using much stiffer Bilsteing monotube struts. Steering was also tweaked, and the brakes were up-sized. The result is a Buick that ... Read More

I'm expecting delivery of my 2007 CXS early next week. It was ordered from a dealer here in my home town in Canada from the USA. It is a GM company car with 2300 miles and all options for many thousands less than I could have bought it in Canada. Therefore, I don't care if it's called a LaCrosse instead of an Allure. Hi Stevo13. This vehicle's lease payment will depend upon its MSRP and what selling price you are able to negotiate on it. For now I will assume that you are interested in a base 2007 Buick LaCrosse CXL that has an MSRP of $25,450 and a selling price of $23,838 ($500 over invoice minus $250 lease cash and $500 bonus cash). According to my calculations, this car should have a 48 ... Read More

Then the new grill will show up on the regular 2008 models. BUT these are only guess's after reading all the media stuff. It will be at the Buick golf event next week.

Buick may mean quiet elegance to most folks, but things promise to get pretty noisy at General Motors' entry-level luxury division later this year with the introduction of two nifty new models – the Enclave and the LaCrosse Super. The Enclave is an all-new luxury crossover and the LaCrosse Super will be an upscale version of Buick's intermediate car. Super is, of course, the Buick series name that for years denoted ... At a press conference here, Buick unveiled its "LaCrosse Super," a high-end trim version of its mid-sized LaCrosse that will be available in the summer of 2007. Buick General Manager Steve Shannon called Super "a freshening of the LaCrosse" that's designed to give LaCrosse customers bolder styling and performance. The Super will include a 5.3-liter, 300-plus-hp V-8 engine; upgraded brakes and suspension; plus new front and rear fascia. Buick spokesman Darovitz ... Read More

I would agree that LaCross "look pretty typical Buick". I like much more how Regal looks/looked. This is the main reason why my wife and I purchased November 30 our second Regal GS instead of LaCrosse. We preferred a leftover demo with 6,800, 2004 model built in July 2003, to brand-new CXS.   You said: "The new Impala looks to be another good GM sedan, check out the pictures".   Where ... The 2007 Buick RWD sedan on the Zeta platform will be the car that saves Buick. I have read that neither the LaCrosse nor the Lucerne (2006 LeSabre replacement) are anything special. If the RWD Buick sedan is a disappointment, then I think that Buick's future is in danger.

Buick has a bright future. LaCrosse in 05, LeSabre replacement (on same platform) for 06, Park Ave. replacement in 2007 on the new RWD Zeta platform, and Rendy replacement (on new Lambda platform) for 2008. The Riviera will probably return sometime within the decade as well, on the same new Zeta platform. And the LaCrosse will eventually be replaced with a shorter version of the same RWD platform.
