Have anybody driving a 2005 or 2006 LaCrosse with the 3800 engine had any problems with the engine? the engine is the series III which includes enhancments to make it quieter in the Buicks. It has a new aluminum structural oil pan which stiffens up the block for less frequency responses.

I just priced a fully loaded 2006 CTS and it is about 5K cheaper than a 2005. I expect the same thing will be true with the lacrosse. Just Bought A Buick LaCrosse

We just picked up a new Buick LaCrosse yesterday. We got a CX. The 3800 V6 is plenty of power for a sedan. I've owned two LeSabre's and have been very satisfied with the 3800. Being in my 40's I'm probably not your typical LeSabre owner, but I like them enough to have purchased two of them. I planned on buying a 2005 LeSabre when we went to the dealership earlier ... GM said it was aware of a low-speed crash, which did not result in any injuries, as a consequence of the potentially faulty brakes. GM has isssued a recall of over 2 million vehicles today.

I like the looks of the LaCrosse. Too bad it gets so expensive when well equipped and even then still doesn't have some of the high tech features like navigation systems and audio inputs for portable music devices (iPods etc.) The upcoming Lucerne clearly looks like a rebadged Impala with portholes for much more money. Things like this are why there is talk about GM dumping Buick or Pontiac. http://money.cnn.com/2005/03/29/Autos/buick_pontiac_future/index.htm

And only $1000 GM card rebates during year 2005. In short, discounts are fair to good, but definitely not as great as wat was available, for example, with the last year Regal.
