Never heard about water intrusion and no TSB mentions it. However, there is a TSB which might very well relate to your problem: These are TSBs not recalls, so if you are out of warranty you'd have to pay for the repair. if it's just the microswitch that shouldn't be too expensive, although it's hard to get out of a BMW for less than $300 it seems. I have the same car 2005 Z4 3.0 with the sport package (18" wheels). I bought the car as a certified used BMW 4months ago. It has 26K miles on it. At the time of purchase the dealership had replaced the back tires, but the founts were good as the previous owner had recently replaced. Shortly after I got the car I noticed it was very squirrelly on uneven road surfaces ... Read More
Has anyone encountered any wear-related problems with the Bridgestone Potenza RFTs (Run Flat Tires)? I've got a 2005 Z4 3.0 with the sport package (18" wheels) and after 22k miles my tires are bad. The inside edge is completely worn down while the outside edge looks fine. I'm guessing that this is a problem with alignment (camber toed inside) but the problem is consistent with all four tires. I bought the ... Read More
Hello all! I'm in deep contemplation over assuming a lease on a z4 (i've never done a lease or assumption before), and could certainly use feedback from anyone here. The facts: -2005 z4 with premium/sport package, great condition (no dings/scratches), tires good, etc. We took it over to a dealer and he evaluated the car with me and checked the tires/body/windshield/etc and things look good. He said, as it stands now, ... Read More

Used 2005 Z4 (3.0i)-- It is fully loaded including NAVIGATION, M SEAT, and CROM WHEEL. It has 19,000 miles on it. With 100k/10 year warranty and BMW maintenance service, the dealer asks $40,000. (w/o tax) Is it a fair deal? If it is not, what do you guys think about fair price? HELP ME.
As far as I know, the Boxster engines that had problems were in the early (1990's) models. A neighbor of mine who formerly worked for Porsche's racing team is considering a 2007 Boxster S with the new 3.4 liter engine. According to him, it's bulletproof, having been refined from the 3.6 liter 911 engine. When I was considering a 2005 Boxster S last year before deciding on a 911, I could ... Read More
The reason no one has probably posted here is because BMW stopped 2005 MY production back in September or something... The 2006 models are just getting to dealers now. Probably not too many people out there that have bought Z4's lately...
Hi z4racing. If you are in an area that has a decent level of competition, I suspect that you should be able to get a 2005 Z4 for a few hundred dollars over dealer invoice minus any incentives. You can find the invoice price of the exact car that you are considering by looking in the following section of this site: Edmunds.com New Vehicle Pricing. You also may be able to ... Read More
Hi ipark. BMW is still offering an attractive lease program on the 2005 Z4 in November. The main difference between its October and November lease programs for this car are that the most attractive length lease for one was 30 months in October and it is 36 months in November. Hi anumolu. BMW is currently providing $3,000 dealer cash on the 2005 Z4 2.5. Taking this cash into account, you should be able to get one right now for several thousand dollars below dealer invoice. As far as this specific offer goes, you are being asked for way too large a down payment. I always advise consumers against making any sort of down payment when leasing. I do so for two ... Read More
To forum Recently I found out that there were decent 2005 Z4 deals around (299/month?). However, the deal seemed to be expired 10/31/2005 by bmw's website. Is this deal still around? Cuz I like to get one very soon (over the weekend) if the deal is still around.
Hey omegagen. Your deal is not actually under invoice once the $3,000 dealer cash that BMW is providing on the 2005 Z4 2.5i right now is taken into account. This dealer cash means that if you pay $35,250 for a car with a dealer invoice of $36,620 the dealer is still making $1,630 on your deal. You may be able to get them down at least another $500 to $1,000. Car_man ... Read More
No problem toncar. BMW is currently providing $3,000 dealer cash on the 2005 Z4 2.5i. You are being offered a discount of just over $5,000 on this car, so you are probably getting it for less than $1,000 over dealer invoice which is a reasonable price. According to my calculations, if you were to lease this car for 30 months with 12,000 miles per year, its zero down, pre-tax monthly payment ... Read More

Hi fireball. There's a reason manufacturers have to put thousands of dollars in dealer cash on a vehicle. Don't get me wrong, I think that the Z4 is a neat car, but if it was selling really well BMW wouldn't need to provide so much dealer cash on it. The price that you were quoted is $1,770 over dealer invoice. If you are in an area where there is a lot ... Read More

Hi tara3056. BMW is currently providing $3,000 dealer cash on the 2005 Z4 2.5i. After taking this cash into account it appears to me as though you are being offered this car at just over dealer invoice, which is a good deal. The dealer that you are working with is not trying to mark-up BMW FS' buy rate lease money factor of .00100 either, which is a good thing. The only ... Read More
Hi I got great feedback from all your post. I am currently leasing a 2005 Z4, MSPR of 37095. I got a lease offer of: 299/month include taxes. $3200 total down include all taxes registration fees etc. Do you think i got a great deal? Please let me know. Wat should my residual value be? I m looking to buy the car monday you feedback ASAP would be greatly appreciated.
Hi tara3056. The .00100 money factor that you mentioned in your post is only available for 30 month leases of this car through BMW FS. Its money factor for any other term less than 42 months doubles to .00200. If I was in the market for this car I definitely would go with the 30 month term. Also, the 36 month, 10,000 miles per year residual value for a 2005 Z4 ... Read More
Hey dugdogg. BMW Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor for 30 month leases of the 2005 Z4 is .00100 with the payment of a security deposit ant its $625 acquisition fee. This sort of thing is ... Read More
I'm interested in leasing a 2005 Z4 2.5... 36 months with 10k miles per year. Is it correct that I can use a 63% residual and .0010 money factor for this deal? THANKS!
Hi baasten. As bdr127 just mentioned, BMW has not started producing 2006 Z4s yet. When they begin to arrive early next year, I highly doubt that BMW will offer any sort of dealer cash on them. It might initially offer a special lease program, but it will be different than the one that is available on the 2005 Z4. Car_man Host Smart Shopper / Prices Paid Forums
Here you go, therose400. If you were to lease a 2005 BMW Z4 through BMW Financial Services right now for 30 months with 15,000 miles per year, its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be .00100 and 59%, respectively. When negotiating a lease on this car, don't forget to take the $3,000 dealer cash that BMW is providing on the 2.5 and that is has on the $5,000 ... Read More

BMW just introduced a new lease program for the month of October a few days ... Read More
Hi Frank. The fact that there are no other BMW dealers within 100 miles doesn't help your bargaining position any. As you seem to already be aware, it appears as though there is some money factor mark-up going on with your deal. $2,500 under dealer invoice would be a great deal for a 2005 Z4 2.5i because there is only $2,500 dealer cash on it right now. However, it looks as ... Read More

Thanks for the help vsaxena. You're right, 24 months is definitely the way to go if one was to lease a 2005 BMW Z4 this month. One minor correction to your post though, BMW FS' buy rate is only .00200 for leases up to 42 months, not .00280. Car_man Host Smart Shopper / Prices Paid Forums
Hi foxyroxy. 24 months is definitely the way to go if you want to lease a 2005 BMW Z4 this month. BMW's lease money factor for 2 year leases is half of its factors for other terms. I just purchased a 2005 Z-4. No floormats. Dealer said floormats did not come with the car. I thought this wierd as I had them as standard on the 530i. BMW USA said they were standard and not option. Before I go back I would like to hear from others as whether they came with your Z4. Thanks.
The incentive is compatible with the BMWFS lease rates, so the dealer gets it whether you lease or buy.. The advertised lease deals for BMWs almost always assume a dealer discount of $1000 from MSRP, in addition to any incentives... But, that lease price is for a specific car with few options.... There is always a little extra room to negotiate lower.. Use your knowledge of the $2500 incentive to negotiate ... Read More
I got the incentives from a dealer on another forum.. I can't recall exactly right now, but the incentives started in either February or March... $2500 dealer cash on the 2.5 model, and $4500 dealer cash on the 3.0 model.. When you pull up incentives, click on dealer marketing support.. It is in there.. http://www.edmunds.com/new/2005/bmw/z4/100482355/incentives.html?tid=edmunds.n.optionsresu- lts.seealso1.incentives.1.BMW*#dms
kyfdx, 2005 Incentives & Rebates page on Edmunds does not list any rebates or discounts for the 2005 BMW Z4. Where is this information available? Thank you.
I just bought a 2005 Z4 2.5, sport package, premium package, etc, MSRP $41700, by $37,000. Invoice price was $38,600, and I believe the BMW incentive for March 2005 is $2,500. That should give the dealer a profit of $900, which I think is fair. Reading this forum, it seems to me that the actual incentive was higher than I thought so... did I pay too much? Thanks
Unless I'm reading it wrong I believe 2005 production is right in line with 2004. BMW produced about 35,000 Z4's in 2004 or about 3000 a month. 6000 year to date 2005 would be about right so far.
Is BMW offering anything on the 05 Z4s? My local dealer has 15 sitting in the snow but doesn't seem very aggressive about moving them. What kind of deals have you been able to negotiate?
With the change in the residuals for the 2004 Z4s, a lease on a 2005 works out to a lower monthly payment vs a 2004. So, when can we expect to see some cash incentives on the 2005s? Will the dealers and BMW be desperate to move them when the snow starts falling? Also - I got a lease quote from a dealer that included a $725 Assignment fee. Anyone have ... Read More
According to a pricing web page BMW is currently offering incentives on the 2005 Z4's. Looks like at least 3000 on the 3.0 and at least 1000 on the 2.5. Has anyone else seen this. These are being offered in the south east.
