2004 Z4 2.5 Pricing Help
Written by: cholla on Aug 24, 2005 6:03:30 AM
I am looking at purchasing from a dealer a CPO 2004 Z4 2.5 w/ auto, Premium, Sport, Convenience and metalic. It has approximately 18,000 miles. They are asking $37K which is high but I am trying to determine what is a reasonable offer to make the dealer. A new 2004 w/ these options had an MSRP of $42,670 and invoice of $39,100. Since BMW was offering incentives in 2004 for as ... Read More

Did you see what Terry said on the Real-World Trade-In Values forum about this car? If I understand it, with the no-leather, no power top, etc. he's saying around $25.5K for the car, trade-in value to a dealer. If you're sure you don't care about those options, want a stick, etc., why not offer $26-$26.5K? And the spt pckg & xenons are really nice. Hard to say, the no-leather, no power ... Read More

Are those all the options? No power top? Metallic paint? etc... If so, a new '05 would be $37,500... They have pretty good incentives.. Actual selling price would probably be around $33K.. That said, the $27K asking price is realistic.. Most private sellers are very unrealistic.... At $26K, you'd have a good deal... and a lot of warranty left.. Maintenance is free up until the end of the 4yr/50K warranty... The ... Read More

I have little idea about the z4's so I would appreciate your feedback on pricing and cost. I am looking at a 2004 2.5i, 5-speed manual with the sports package and xenon lights, heated seats. it's driven 6k miles. the private party is asking for 27k. does that price seem reasonable or should i be bargaining some more? what's the same 2005 cost brand new? another concern i have is the ... 2004 Z4 2.5 Sport Package

Well, here we are sports car owners! We have a Cadillac Escalade and a Dodge Super cab Hemi, but we always wanted a fun car, two seater convertible! At our ages, it was soon to get one or forget it! This last Saturday we went to breakfast, went to a Golf shop, and then we decided to just browse the dealerships for a sports car. I told my husband I always ... Read More

You can count on BMW reducing the production number of the Z4s for the US market this year. You should not count on the high incentives appearing again. They need to preserve the used car market value to ensure that their off-lease vehicles do not cost them a fortune. If you are looking for a good deal, call around and ask if they have any 2004s to sell. Once the incentives ... Read More

Unless I'm reading it wrong I believe 2005 production is right in line with 2004. BMW produced about 35,000 Z4's in 2004 or about 3000 a month. 6000 year to date 2005 would be about right so far.

2005 Incentives
Written by: rjbpa on Nov 21, 2004 8:12:44 AM
With the change in the residuals for the 2004 Z4s, a lease on a 2005 works out to a lower monthly payment vs a 2004. So, when can we expect to see some cash incentives on the 2005s? Will the dealers and BMW be desperate to move them when the snow starts falling? Also - I got a lease quote from a dealer that included a $725 Assignment fee. Anyone have ... Read More

wh9, Last month, I leased a 3 lilter 2004 Z4. In August they had a $4500 incentive instead of the $6500 this month. I got a price of (Invoice - 4500 + 1000). In other words, $1000 profit for the dealer. Most people are being sucessfull with just $500 for the dealer. You should definitely be able to get (Invoice - 6500 + 500). Someone told me last month that some ... Read More

vsaxena, Thanks for the post. I've been trying to get the residuals for the Z4 for this month. Where do you get these numbers? I leased my Z4 last month. Last month, the 3 liter 10K miles, 36 month lease had a residual of 58% and a manufacturer-to-dealer incentive of $4500. My lease came out to $397 per month, including taxes in N.J. I just went through the calculations for my ... Read More

Marcos, Your MSRP of $35570 has an invoice price of about $32800. What I did in negotiating for the Z4 is work from the Invoice price, not the MSRP. A few people in these forums have been able to purchase or lease a new 2004 Z4 after giving the dealer just $500 to $1000 in profit. What I would do in your case is the following: 1 - Try offering the ... Read More

With the current incentives a new Z4 is very attractive, especially since leases have very high residuals since they car calculated based on MSRP. You can get a 3.0 about $9K under MSRP. BMW offers leases upto 15K miles/year (or even more perhaps). In your case the best deal would be a CPO car. This will give you warranty coverage for upto 6 years from the start date or 100K miles. ... Read More

gatorsfn28, Here are my 2 cents. If you still have not bought, good for you. BMW is offering the dealers $5000 in incentive to unload the 2004 2.5 liter Z4. It's $6500 for the 2004 3.0 liter Z4. I learned in the leasing forum at www.edmunds.com that it is not a good idea to put money down on a lease. If the car is totaled or stolen, you do not get ... Read More

2004 Z4 Stick Shift in Nor Cal

Purchased a new Jet Black with Beige leather Z4 manual for my brother in the San Jose CA area for $500 over basic cost. The dealer passed on $3000 of the $3500 incentive. This came to about $6200 below MSRP. They did add the MACO and training fees. Also got 2.9% for 60 months, though their buy rate is 1.9%. Dealer was Stevens Creek BMW. The car had Sports, Performance, Convenience, ... Read More
