Buying a Z4 this weekend
Written by: lvrebel on May 12, 2006 6:29:22 PM
Car Man, I'm leasing a 2006 Z4i or si this weekend and would like to get some of your thoughts. I will be turning in a leased 2003 BMW 325i with 16K. The lease was a 36 month term with 12k per year. Since the vehicle is being turned back in with so few miles, can I use that as leverage to get a better deal? In regard to leasing, what ... Read More

Can I release my current leased car for one more year?
Written by: dagsz4 on Mar 28, 2006 6:23:44 AM
Car Man, I am now thinking that I may want to re-lease my current 2003 Z4 for one additional year. Would BMW do a one year lease? I would only want a one year lease and not a two year. What do you think the cost of doing this would be? I like the color and looks of my Z4 more than anything they offer on the 2006 model year. Any ... Read More

Hi jamiew. BMW is running a lease pull ahead program right now that will let current lessees of select vehicles out of their deals early at no charge if they finance or lease a new vehicle through BMW FS. Unfortunately the Z4 is not one of the vehicles that is eligible for this program. It's only available to current lessees of select 2002 and 2003 3-Series, 5-Series, 7-Series, and X5 models. ... Re: BMW Z4: Lease Questions [Car_man]

Car_man My 2003 Z4 (3.0) lease expires 1/06. When my old Z3 lease was up, I leased it again for a second 36 month term, and cut my payments in half. What is your opinion about leasing my Z4 again when this lease expires? Do you have any good suggestions for lease expiration options, other than purchasing the car and keeping/or re-selling or signing up for a new car lease?

I just wanted to let you know that I did buy the 3.0L Z4 with SMG. Apparently, it was the only SMG available in the northeast. The car has all the usual schmalz (xenon, heated seats, sport and premium packages, BMW assist, metallic paint and hardtop prep). The dealer's cost according to Consumers' Union was $40,915 (includes $4,500 incentive). I paid $40,851. It was the last day of the month, and ... Read More

Also looking for affirmation

While shopping for "something else" I test-drove a pre-owned Z4, and liked it! I then found one that I thought I would buy, and had made what I considered a decent deal. Then, while looking for other info on the web, I found this forum, and maybe wondering if I am doing a smart thing (being smitten sometimes makes you lose focus). details: 2003 Z4, jet black, tan leather, 2.5, 5-speed, ... For what its worth

Hi: I own an RX8 6 Speed ( that forum seems much livelier than this one BTW) but I recently helped my GF buy a Z4. After much driving around including a horrible Bait and Switch at one dealer where we walked out with the manager on his knees trying to get us to go back( I have owned BMW's and was surprised at this behavior, both the grovelling, and the ... Pre-owned BMW Z3 (2003 3.0i)
Written by: ozrpm on Dec 17, 2004 6:32:56 PM
Just picked up a pre-owned 2003 Z4 3.0i manual with 6300 miles on the clock. It is not fully loaded up, but has the neccessaries. Paid $33k before sales tax. Spotless body, not a scratch. I've trawled www.z4um.com and other forums, no major issues with the 2003 and my car has none of the usual wear items (e.g. low front panel under engine gets damaged). Happy & safe driving all. ... With the current incentives a new Z4 is very attractive, especially since leases have very high residuals since they car calculated based on MSRP. You can get a 3.0 about $9K under MSRP. BMW offers leases upto 15K miles/year (or even more perhaps). In your case the best deal would be a CPO car. This will give you warranty coverage for upto 6 years from the start date or 100K miles. ... Read More
