Vehicle1996 BMW Z3 1.9 2dr Convertible
ReviewThe prestige and handling sell it.
Paid 31k in 1996. Ironically, if you
can afford a new BMW then you cannot
afford to waste time bickering with the
BMW [no] service center. Z-3 not
comfy. for >6 hr.s
I'd projected a loss of $2k per year
on previous BMW's but perhaps because
of teh volume of production the loss
has been around $3k per year for the Z-
3 and greater for the 328. Otherwise,
very happy with the BMW cars.
Happy driving, Tim
Best Features1. handling. only issue is some fishtailing so watch out for that on slick roads 2. look/body style 3. convertible. manual is especially nice as you don't have to be completely stopped 4. overall very enjoyable
Worst Features1. cup holders 2. AC button bad - press repeatedly 3. front headlight button pops off (needs glue) - dealer ignored 2. and 3. for several years 4. believe red Z-3 has defective clearcoat, also ignored by dealer 6. ABS failed at 50.5k miles. engr change for 97 though
