I've been researching in every source that I can think of to learn whether more than iDrive will change in 2010. So far, I haven't found any other changes for the diesels. So I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to get a $64k X5 for $56k. The 2009 X5 3.5d has $4,500 cash assistance from BMW until August 31. I just ordered one for August production at purchase price of $3k below dealer invoice. Sticker will be over $64k and purchase price is $56k including destination. They also will trade me out of my 2008 535xi for no charge since I'm within 4 months of the lease end. I have a 2008 X5 and a 2008 535. The transmission on the 535 is far superior to the X5. The 535 always seems to be in the right gear while the X5 needs a quick push on the accelerator to get it to downshift on steep hills. It is especially annoying when you make a turn off a level road and immediately start going up a steep hill. You must hit the gas right away to get the transmission ... Read More...

helpI am close to purchasing a preowned 2008 x5 3.0 with tech, sport, premium. The original msrp was 60K. This car has 12,000 miles and they are asking 46,000. They said with was a BMW exec demo. It is also certified. Is this a decent deal.? It seems the wholesale on this car is about 41K. How much does the dealer pay (dealer cost) to have the car certified though BMW. ... Read More...

I have a 2001 X5 4.4i and have the same problem(failed oil seperator). My first broke down was in Jan 2008. I had a repair done and costed me $2200.00.
