BMW X5 Prices Paid and Buying Experience

Re: BMW pricing [eights38]

Quick question to see if you might be able to help as you seem very informed. I am considering buying a brand-new 2007 X5 4.8. I cant seem to find any websites that still show 2007 invoice information, thus its proving difficult for me to determine what the best possible deal is I can get for taking a 2007 off their hands vs a 2008. Any ideas here? Any help would appreciated. Read More...

Re: Cash (BMW) cash incentive on X5's till end of February [ilovedogs]

I am considering buying a brand-new 2007 X5 4.8. Do you happen to know if this cash incentive is good on any X5 purchase or only on 2008 models? Also, buy chance, do you happen to have information or know where I could find dealer invoice information for a new 2007 BMW X5. Seems like I can only find 2008 invoicing. Many thanks. Read More...

BMW X5 Lease Questions

Re: X5 lease numbers [voldermort]

Voldermort.... Do you live in NJ or NY? I'm not sure how it works if you live in NJ and purchase in NY State, but you may have the option to either pay the tax as part of the monthly payment or pay it all up front. For my last NJ-purchased lease, signed 34 months ago, I pay the taxes as part of the payment. For the car I just ordered last week, the taxes were due up front. Ask ... Read More...

BMW X5 Prices Paid and Buying Experience

Re: Purchased X5 [vchugo007]

As I noted in my previous post (chrisjur, "BMW X5 Prices Paid and Buying Experience" #779, 23 Dec 2007 8:39 am), I recently spec'd out a 2008 X5 3.0si with an MSRP of $59,020 and paid $56,725. That is $2600 over invoice and $2295 below MSRP. I negotiated hard with 3 dealers and one came in just a tad bit lower ($2400 off of MSRP), but that wasn't enough to make me jump from ... Re: X5 4.8 - 20" Wheels - Mid West ? [sm_ed]

sm_ed - You WILL experience a big difference with 20" wheels on an X5 because they ship with performance tires and not the all season tires that ship on the 19" wheels. I have owned three X5s with 20" wheels and I can tell you from experience that they are almost useless in anything more than an inch of snow. I remember one particular experience trying to drive to the ... Read More...

Re: 2007 BMW X5 Back up Camera [mzwerin]

That's a good point and another reason why I just turned the camera off and only use PDC. I gave up on waiting for the iDrive systems to fully boot and the camera to start working before backing up. In 2008, BMW gives you the option to add navigation and parking distance control as separate features. Before, they were bundled with the back up camera in the Technology ... Read More...

Re: 2008 X5 4.8 Gas Guzzling [shellshock]

After a full year of driving a 2007 4.8i in mixed driving conditions, my average fuel economy is 13 mpg. During pure highway driving, I'm lucky to get 17 on a trip, but I have a lead foot. The sobering issue for me is that this vehicle, like others in its class, generates about 11 tons of carbon dioxide per year and requires more than 21 barrels of oil to produce the gasoline ...
