in terms of options, i custom ordered because I didnt all the stuff included in the 10 they had. with my options and base...i basically paid 1200 over invoice..the invoice price and retail price of the options are basically the same (not that big of a difference). skobola, Are you sure that you tested the 2 updated versions ? The 08 Cayenne has 290 hp w/ around 273 lb ft of torque vs. the X5 that has 260+ hp & 225 lb.ft. of torque. There is a noticeable diff specially on the low end & it's in favor of the Porsche. The lowest price on a brand new X5 & Cayenne is no less than $50k. Interestingly enough, I was with my friend who test-drove both of these and pronounced a Bimmer to be a winner, due to Cayenne being a turtle when compared to the Bimmer. And this was provided that we both liked Cayenne looks-wise better, however, the lack of performance killed it. Note that this applies for 6-cylinder engines on both, i.e., for the low-end of ... My sister has an 06 ML350 w/ the AMG package. It's a nice SUV but I didn't buy it because I want a dark gray color & MB doesn't have that color on the ML. X5 has a Space gray & Cayenne has a Meteor Gray. The GL is too big. I'd prefer the GX 470 over the GL. If I wanna be selfish it'd be the Cayenne hands down, but I agree w/ anon3.
