BMW X5 Prices Paid and Buying Experience
Re: 2005 X5 4.4 with 40000miles [mroctober]
I don't mean to interrupt here, but isn't a brand new Lexus RX for the same price a better but than a old 05 or 06 bmw X5? It's your money if you wanted a new x5, then it would've been a different story, but an old unreliable bmw rather than a brand new lexus, your choice. Read More...
Re: 2005 X5 4.4 with 40000miles [jpzy3]
I do understand bmws handling. I've driven bmws best suv, which is the bmw X6, and I know how well it handles, but when your best friend works at a bmw dealer, and advises you not to buy it, that does put a doubt in your mind, doesn't it? Well, the RX2009 has big discounts, up to $9k from what I've heard, around $32k for a new 2009 rx. Read More...
Re: 2005 X5 4.4 with 40000miles [bmlexus]
yes - that is my dilemma. you would understand if you cared for bmw-handling. only a big discount like $11k under list for a brand new lexus rx could sway me and i tried to get that price and forego the X5, but couldn't. so back to square 1 looking for a used X5. the X5 is on the top of my list, but i just refuse to spend upwards of $50k for a vehicle or upwards of $30k for used(but ... Re: 2005 X5 4.4i - Suggestion on buying [bmw_dream]
I just bought an '05 4.4 with sport + premium. 24k is good/fair depending on condition. If there is still warranty left or it is CPO, I think it is pretty good! Maintenance - cannot tell, depends too much on condition, but I'm prepared for higher then your average car. Issues - check x5world.com, but from what I read, minor stuff, my PDC and folding mirrors stopped ... Read More...
2009 X5 Diesel - Questions and Comments
Re: Biodiesel in the new X5 35d? [wademmiller]
I think both BMW & Mercedes say B5, because it is mandated in Germany. The issue is the quality of the biodiesel. Until it becomes mainstream there could be problems. I know in Hawaii the biodiesel producer got a special waver for using their biodiesel in Mercedes E320 CDI. I think the biodiesel producers need to be the ones to plead the case to the automakers. Right ... Read More...
1st test drive X5 diesel impressions.
I had a little time to kill this morning and stopped into BMW of San Diego. Unlike my last visit there in 2007, I was greeted as I came through the front door. I told the gentleman I would like to test the new X5 diesel. He asked to see my Driver's license and told me he would meet me out front. They had 3 in stock and the one we drove was base model. Sitting at idle the diesel ... Read More...

Re: Is this a good deal? [eaw801]
Both you guys putting money down on a lease, if you scroll up the pages you'll soon find out that you should never put money down on a lease. If the vehicle is totaled or stolen you will loose your entire down payment. Plus the monthly payments you are getting are not much lower than putting zero down except for the first payment and assorted fees. I'm no expert in this ... Read More...
2005 X5 3.0 Steering Adjustment
Hi Group, I am new to BMW and this group with the purchase of a 2005 3.0 X5. The dealer has not yet given me all the manuals as we closed the deal late saturday night. I am wondering if someone can let me know if there is a lock on the steering wheel adjustment. I try the lever that is supposed to work but it does not tilt or telescope, maybe it is not working or maybe it has been ... Read More...
Re: 2005/2008 X5 numbers Thank You! [rezf] [nj_bmw_byer] [rezf] [nj_bmw_bye
manydom That was my type mistake re money factor. For march it is 0.0021 not 0.0025. The rate for Feb was 0.0025 . Residuals do not typically change from BMWFS (they are already inflated to make leases more attractive). The factors that likely change from month to month are the money factor and any incentives/cashbacks towards a new vehicle. Note, this is model ... Read More...
