2004 BMW X5 4.4i AWD 4dr SUV (4.4L 8cyl 6A)

Review

Truly magnificent.Smooth ride as one can not imagine.Powerful engine that is great on the highway and in the city. Fun to drive...one feels "at home" right away. getting 21.5 MPG on the highway, around 15 in town, only 500 miles on it. You need to watch yoyur speed, though ...since you don't realize how fast you are going.

Favorite Features

Engine. Reatively good MPG. Good "solid" feeling all around.Ride.

Suggested Improvements

No compass on a 55,000 +....? (BMW....you must be kidding.) Storage space should be a little bit bigger.

2004 BMW X5 3.0i AWD 4dr SUV (3.0L 6cyl 6M)

Review

i used to own a 80's BMW and hated it. never looked at another one for 2 decades until people convinced me otherwise. things definitely have changed for sure. as the result, i just purchased a X5 and it drives beautifully and turn heads all over the place. my percepton on BMWs have changed completely. X5 has plenty of power, smoothness of american cars, solidness of european made cars, looks of japanese cars, and its own class of BMW! just drove 400 mils on a road trip and it is awesome!

2004 BMW X5 4.4i AWD 4dr SUV (4.4L 8cyl 6A)

Review

I went to the BMW Center at Spartanburg to pick up the vehicle. It is a great experience and I had the opportunity to drive an identical vehicle on both the road track and off-road track at whatever extremes I had the nerve and capability to handle, so I can guarantee it is stable and will peform as I have come to expect from a BMW. It is exceptionally smooth for an SUV.

Favorite Features

The engine, drive train and AWD combination are perfectly integrated. The split rear hatch, the perimeter sensors, the quality of the interior appointments and the exterior design are exceptional.

Suggested Improvements

The cup holders are bad. They will not hold two cups of any shape at the same time. The audio system should offer a cassette/CD combination. The front passenger seat should fold foward for loading long objects.

2004 BMW X5 3.0i AWD 4dr SUV (3.0L 6cyl 6M)

Review

Great handling and great looking vehicle, the ride is a little harsh with the sports package. The only other thing I note is that the paint job is not the quality of the bmw's built off shore.

Favorite Features

Looks great and handles like a BMW. It is very comfortable on long freeway trips.

Suggested Improvements

Better quality paint job.

2004 BMW X5 3.0i AWD 4dr SUV (3.0L 6cyl 6M)

Review

The BMW x5 is perhaps the most elegantly designed, sport SUV available. The vehicle rides and handles like a dream. It is essentially a 5 series that is disguised as an SUV. The 3.0 is perfectly adequate for the average consumer looking for a reasonably priced sport SUV. The 4.4 is for the true enthusiast who desires the added performance of the larger engine. We won't even discuss the dream of the new 4.8.

Favorite Features

The sport package is essential, and improves the vehicles image immensely. The X5 is clearly the most attractive SUV on the market; leaving others such as the Porsche in the dust.
