BMW X5 Cold Temp Problems

  • 2005 X3 Hydro locks

Written by: fmvinny on Jan 27, 2011 6:02:06 PM

On December 26th, 2010 my daughter was driving our 2005 BMW X3 when it stopped in the middle of a street about a block from our house. There was a lot of smoke and for a moment she thought that the vehicle was on fire. We got it towed to a local service station that diagnosed the problem as hyrdo-locking. They cleaned it up ($280 with towing) but did not have ... Read More

I'd be happy to help you out, sgaister. BMW Financial Services' October buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2010 X3 with 15,000 miles per year are .00230 and 46%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tiers. As you can see, BMW is not really providing any lease support on this truck right now, but it is providing $4,000 dealer ... Read More

Hi redbone55. BMW is providing lease support on the 2010 X3, but I wouldn't exactly say that its current program on it is amazing. BMW Financial Services' August buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2010 X3 with 15,000 miles per year are .00150 and 57%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tiers. • 2008 X3 Transmission Problems?

    Written by: hugepatsfan10 on Aug 1, 2010 6:17:26 AM

Hi Everyone I just wanted a little advice. I narrowed my car search down to the BMW X3 2008 (got a really good quote) and a 2010 Infinity EX (a little more pricey but includes everything navigation and backup camera) . There are pro's and cons to both. I loved the ride on both. But because of the space issue in the EX, I was going to go with the X3. ... Read More

We have a True Cost to Own tool that's based on more than a couple of data points. Unless my math is wrong, the maintenance and repair costs for a 2010 X3 will run you .06 cents a mile over 5 years/75,000 miles. .067 if you drag the decimal points out a bit. That's a bit more than the .058 I come up with for a '10 Lexus RX 350 (link), ... Read More

In a "static" situation heating the atmosphere will result in lowering the Rh. Put a steaming teakettle (four humans) in the mix and you will have to continually raise the air temperature to keep the Rh constant. Yes, cold air is consistently drier air. That's what makes this situation even MORE dangerous. That COLD and DRY FRESH airflow coming from the outside and flowing through an A/C evaporator covered with moisture ... Read More

Hi tmasjr. I don't believe that BMW is currently offering 39 month leases on the X3. Please see my previous post for the 36-month data that you're interested in. BMW FS' money factor for 24-month leases is the same, but its 24-month, 10,000 mile per year residual value for the 2010 X3 is 66%. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum

FWIW people seem to be handling this problem individually. Some have said that they made a deal to turn in their malfunctioning AT for an MT or had it bought back in its entirety. I do not know for sure what is true and what is just babbling on the internet. At any rate, no one can tell me what the difference is between an actual MT and driving the AT ... Read More

What does that matter to those of us who have cars that drive like ****? You are lucky although if you are comparing it to MB then I will say that isn't much of a comparison. MB has had reliability problems for a long time and I wouldn't touch any of them with a 10 foot pole. I do not doubt that your car is fine from your perspective but you ... Read More

I agree with your frustration. The X3 is doing nothing to help BMW's image. The suspension problems and the herky-jerky transmission in a premium car are absurd. I have been driving BMWs for a long time and I wish I had gone with Lexus this time around. I have heard all the nonsensical statements from the self-proclaimed BMW fans. BMW could move X3 production to Greer Thank you Juan, I got to the sight this time and it was very interesting. First, I had no idea they were planning on making X5's and 3's in North America, and second and more important, looks like the X3 won't get a model change until 2010, which is quite a ways off.
