My wife has a 2006 X3, there was the blue tooth transmitter failure at the beginning of this year. Other than this, the X3 has been very reliable since Dec of 2005. She loves the X3 more than the Forester. I have a 2009 Forester Prem, so far there is no problem at all, it has 30K miles on it now. By the way this is my third Forester, I had ... Read More

I have heard it is excellent in snow and ice. Grass and mud, no problem. That is strictly come from how good the 4 tires are. Snow tires are the best but need to keep extra set for other 3 seasons.

Never looked at the Subaru (which looks strange to me but gets great reviews) but it's funny as I see the X3 as a tough, mid-sized utilitarian car. Pricey in its range but not over the top so. It isn't a cream puff and pretty ascetic inside and out except for the amazing four piece pano roof. It is a zippy suburban car though and not meant to be taken off ... Read More

I have had no problems with the car. It's great! Nice size and handles wonderfully. It has the German transmission that you have to get used to, but it gets up and goes. I got a certified used one from a BMW dealer, so I know that it has a warranty and it was inspected by them before I bought it. The only drawback is that it is a more fancy ... Read More

That is really interesting to hear. I gather that the second guessing has not been in connection to the BMW starting to break down or anything. The ritzy issue is there for me, too. I live in New Orleans and... not that an x3 is that flashy but. Part of me wants to own a flash car that feels great, and I like it when a car is response and powerful, ... Read More

t, I ended up with the BMW X3. It's nice, but I have kinda second-guessed my decision. It's very nice and handles great...but it feels ritsy. We had to go somewhere over the weekend where we had to park in grass and it was muddy. I felt like the car was too pretty to be muddy. I guess for my needs, the Subaru probably would have worked out well and felt ... Read More

Hi johnpatrick3. Yes, BMW is still running an early lease termination program on the X3 in June. In addition to that, if you are a current X3 lessee who gets a new X3 you are eligible for a special $1,500 loyalty cash incentive. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum

X3 Early Lease Termination Special in June 2009?
Written by: johnpatrick3 on Jun 8, 2009 9:45:43 AM
Hello...I am trying to find out if BMW is still offering an early lease termination special for X3's for June 2009. My understanding was that in May BMW was offering to waive the final 3 months payments if you leased a new BMW (ie, a pull-ahead program). Any information would be appreciated.

Here you go, Tyler. According to the latest information that I have seen, BMW Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2009 BMW X3 with 10,000 miles per year are an unattractive .00280 and 49%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical 36 month lease are an equally unattractive .00280 and 43%. BMW is currently providing $4,000 dealer cash on ... Read More

Hi acorvine. You're in luck. For some reason, BMW decided to pull its lease support on the 2009 X3...but now it's back. BMW Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2009 X3 with 15,000 miles per year are .00250 and 53%, respectively. It is difficult to say what BMW's lease program will be like on the 2010 X3 when it ... Read More

Hi Car_man, I am thinking about leasing a BMW 2009 X3. I went to a dealership this afternoon and this is what they offer. The MF and RV all seem consistent with what you provided on previous post. I am not sure about the purchase price, which is higher than the invoice price and lower than the TMV. Could you please let me know how much above invoice price would be ... Read More

In partcular, looking for 2009 BMW X3, 12K miles/year. Also, BMW just announed that sales of BMW brand vehicles decreased 36.1 percent in November for a total of 15,217 compared to 23,808 in November 2007.
