BMW's European delivery program is one of the best. Our car was waiting in Munich with a tank full of gas and ready for our trip across Germany, Switzerland and France. Our X3 performed flawlessly over international roadways and narrow back streets. We enjoyed traveling 1500 miles before leaving the vehicle in Nice, FR for shipment to the USA.
Sliding down an icy North Cascades highway convinced me skid control is paramount consideration. U.S. safety standards are based on crash tests. By then it's too late! BMW's all-wheel drive with automatic traction and stability control makes it one of the safest cars on the road.
Unfortunately, fuel economy, size and safety are linked. I'm not ready to experiment with hybrids and I'm willing to trade fuel economy for safety. It's the same with comfort. I'll sacrifice some comfort for a responsive, sporty, fun drive that fits my lifestyle.
