Re: Long-Term Test: 2005 BMW X3 [driver100]
Yeah... I can just imagine the "dirt road" they took it on, and at what speeds.. And, with the 18" sport wheels and lowered suspension.. That combination is definitely not designed for off-road.. That said, I still wouldn't be too happy about my entire rear suspension failing.. Something tells me that vehicle got the same test they would give a Nissan Xterra or ... Read More...
Re: Long-Term Test: 2005 BMW X3 [steve_]
I am not sure that is a fair test. The X3 is not an off road SUV as in say a Jeep. It is an SAV (Sport Activity Vehicle) and the all wheel drive and other features are to make it a more sophisticated driving experience - not necessarily to be bouncing all over the place on back roads. I would like to see what would happen if they took other vehicles on those same roads, probably ... Read More...

Re: 2006my?? [bargamon1]
My dealer in Cincinnati is The BMW Store (catchy huh?) The owner, my wife and I have known each other forever. Unlike many dealers, this gentlemen is actually an advisor to BMW AG. He travels to Munich regularly to attend and teach other dealers around the world how to (essentially) become ISO certified. His dealership was the second or third US dealer to become ... Re: September Lease Special
I can give you an idea of what BMW's new lease program for the 2005 X3 is like, timmboj, if you let me know how long you want to lease it for and how many miles per year you need to be able to drive it. Car_man Host Smart Shopper / Prices Paid Forums Read More...
Re: Looks like BMW canceled the 39 mo deal
You're right sponge_worthy. BMW is no longer offering 39 month leases on the 2005 X3 in September. Its 36 month lease program for this model is still fairly attractive though. Car_man Host Smart Shopper / Prices Paid Forums Read More...
Re: 2005 X3 3.0i lease
Hi bra. The lease money factor that you were quoted to lease this truck is definitely too high. BMW Financial Services' buy rate lease money factor for September for the 2005 X3 3.0 is only .00075 with the payment of a security deposit and acquisition fee. It looks to me as though the dealer that you are working with may be trying to mark-up your vehicle's base lease ... Read More...
Re: Lease Comparison / Apples to Oranges [markcincinnati]
Thanks for your input Mark. I wanted to decide this weekend because its the last weekend of August and there's not many 2005 X3's left for the current lease deal, well, that is, those with 6-speed transmissions like I want. My e-mail feelers to BMW dealers are proving that I may have waited too late anyway. One is telling me there are only 23 X3 3.0 6-speeds in the US ... Read More...
Re: 2005 X3 3.0 Rattling me crazy! [dmosier1]
Of course it creaks, the X3 Ultimate Creaking Machine is made of wood... didn't anyone tell you... This is appearently a classic BMW annoyance which appears to plague the X3 particularly. You can search just about any BMW forum and find a lot of discussion about this solutions people have tried The problem is the door seals rubbing against the door. What works ... Read More...
