Love the X3
Vehicle
2004 BMW X3 2.5i AWD 4dr SUV (2.5L 6cyl 6M)
Review
Had the X3 for a few months now. Zero problems/squeaks/rattles. Trans, cup holders, hatch, moonroof, AC, everything all work perfectly; a few of you guys must have gotten bad ones. Bought it to go up to the mountains in the winter; enjoy the incredible handling, brakes, visiblity, smoothness, stereo the rest of the year. Fits in the garage easily. Very comfofrtable to drive for long periods.
Favorite Features
brakes, stereo, moonroof, remote locking system
Suggested Improvements
Too high price premium for the larger motor (why? just to gouge the customer?). Needs more compliant shocks.

BMW X3.25i Really is the Ultimate
Vehicle
2004 BMW X3 2.5i AWD 4dr SUV (2.5L 6cyl 6M)
Review
The car drives like a dream. However, the cabin interior makes creaking noises at slow speeds (5-10 mph), and you can hear the wind blowing at higher speeds (40 mph +).
Favorite Features
The moonroof, controls on the steering column, the auto sensing wipers, the leather seats.
Suggested Improvements
Eliminate cabin noises.
Excellent SUV

This is a great value for the money. It may not be as comfortable as my old Grand Cherokee, but it drives 100 % better. Its handling is what you would expect from a BMW. I am very happy. The lease price was much less than SUVs with far less ratings.
Favorite Features
The SUV in general is a greta value
Suggested Improvements
If I had any complaint it would be the interior which is slightly plain compared to my 325-I, but it drives as well, and I would sacrafice belles and whistles for an SUV that hadles this well.
New to SAV

2004 BMW X3 3.0i AWD 4dr SUV (3.0L 6cyl 6M)
Review
I just recently purchased my SAV and like it very much. It takes a little getting used to to sit up higher than my previous sedan. This vehicle is very comfortable and the instrument panel is typical BMW. The driver is the main ingredient with their design. Mileage should improve with age and more prudent driving. The exterior is awesome in its design and the Silver Grey Metallic paint is flawless. This should be a keeper for some time.
Favorite Features
The exterior design and paint; the overall nimbleness of the handling.
Suggested Improvements
Need to design more storage bins in the interior.

I just bought my X3, and it's wonderful!! I love the way it drives, it doesn't drive like an SUV at all. The car hugs the road, so you feel safe in it. Great price for such an all around beautiful car
Favorite Features
Panaromic moonroof. xDrive.
Suggested Improvements
Material used for the interior dashboard can look better!

We have owned our new X3 SAV for almost two months and have logged 4300 miles on this 3.0 6- speed manual. This new introduction into the BMW line-up has more than lived up to our expectations. The X3 is based along BMW's 3-series and stays true to form in its ability to provide a more sports- car like feel to a SUV body. The X3 provides excellent braking, is very agile, nimble, and responsive. The 6-speed manual reinforces BMW's reputation behind their manual transmisions. To those buyers who are looking for an SUV that will offer better handling characteristics, braking and overall performance .. X3 owners will be favorably impressed with BMW's new introduction.
Favorite Features
DVD based integrated navigation system has an excellent refresh rate and provides many helpful driving aids to the consumer. The steering wheel functions are interfaced well for the stereo and cruise control.
Suggested Improvements
There currently is no indicator lamp if the tailgate is not securely latched.

I love everything about this truck. From its tight-handling to its panoramic sun-roof!! It drives like a dream....like a 325 on stilts. This is what separates this sporty SAV from the rest of the SUV pack. The interior is typical BMW - functional and not too flashy. There is enough room for a family of 4 with all their gear. It's not the most spacious, nor the most powerful, nor is it the most brutish SUV on the road. This is the perfect SUV for those who plan to drive (like most of us!) most of the time in the city.
Favorite Features
I hate sunroofs...have gone so far as to wait 3 months to orderonw without it. But I LOVE the X3's panoramic roof - would not buy one without it. I also love the 3-mode steptronic transmission, my memory seat settings recalled by my remote key, and heated seats.
Suggested Improvements
Would love: 1. A pocket for my sunglasses (though I did find a small pocket in the door); 2. Better designed driver cupholder; 3. Sliding or longer arm-rest. Have not owned it long enough to dig up more annoyances.
