    I just took my wife's 2004 X3 2.5 to our local BMW dealer for the Inspection I service and a brake fluid flush. Absolutely no problems were detected- aside from needing front and rear wiper blades. Total cost: $358. Having said all that, the years and mileage have really taken their toll on the truck's interior and exterior: :P ;) :D

    Thanks for the helpful information. My experience with BMWs has been so bad that I've only owned nine of them(and still have three). My wife's 2004 X3 has also been a disaster; it's required one warranty repair(an SRS sensor) in over 90,000 miles of gentle use. And brakes only last 60,000 miles, tires even less(48,000 miles).     The 06 does not have the 6-speed GM6 Automatic Transmission. I do not know how the ride compares to the 2009 as I have not been able to find anything that says what BMW fixed if anything from the original 2004 model.

    Will mixing one new EL-42 with the 3 existing EL-42 tires cause any problems? The local tire store was telling us we really should get 4 new tires, to keep everything "balanced".     Acquisition fees are only for leases.. You aren't leasing an '04, are you? Do you really want all of those options? If not, you'd be better off finding a new $41K MSRP '05 and getting it for around $39K... Tax, title and license fees vary by state..
