I was thinking the same thing how could it be 40k. The 2006 is like 27k or something not 40k. I looked up the 2006 EVO IX on the Mitsu website and if you get the high end model it'll run you 36 large! Yes you can get other versions for much cheaper. The new one no one knows but to get all the fancy stuff on it is going to ... Read More

I bought a Z4 3.0 sport in 2004 after test driving a 350Z and a Honda. The japanese were both good but finish was lacking and frankly driving at 8000rpm all the time (S2000) would get annoying in a Honda. I now own a 2006 M Roadster and have over 20k miles on it. A friend of mine bought a new Boxster S. I can't believe that Porsche charges you to ... Read More

Yeah ... I agree that this generation isn't as attractive as previous ones. Many people I know still find the design stunning but, for the first time, I've made cosmetic modifications to a car that I owned -- I added the AC Schnitzer rear spoiler, and I think it really makes the car. I didn't do anything to my E46 M3 though. Here are some pics with the spoiler: http://www.m5board.com/photopost/data/569/MG_1979.JPG http://www.m5board.com/photopost/data/569/MG_1960.JPG ... It appears that you've gone beyond irrational exuberance for the M6 straight to arrogant obnoxiousness. I don't really care to play that game, but perhaps you ought to get a few of your facts straight: "I took a CPO 2006 997s out and it was a rickety piece of crap." Well then, just where does that put BMW on the feces scale? According to JD Powers, Porsche surpassed Lexus in 2006 ... Read More

Spritinthesky ... I'm not attacking either your appreciation of BMW's, or your assesment that the Porsche is a better track car. You obviously are not a fan of the current M generation cars, and I'd be silly to say that the M6 will beat a Porsche on the track given a) the current weight of the current M cars, b) the fact that most of the fastest times on the Nuerburgring ... Sorry ... i got the weight number just by going to the first result on a google search, which was from the car connection. But from the manual the weight is 3909 lbs. The fact that I don't know how much the car weighs shows that it's probably been much of a problem. Honestly, for a cruiser it's nice to have the spaciousness on the interior and the extra weight comes ... Read More

"What does "proper break in" on an M3 entail?" Pretty much the same thing that is required/recommended on my Porsche 911 or former Honda S2000. Namely, don't exceed certain RPM's (4,200 in the case of the 911, with a 7,200 rpm redline), don't drive the car for short distances that doesn't give the engine oil time to fully heat up and the seals, gaskets and other engine parts time to fully ... I was just in VOB BMW in Rockville, Maryland. They have a brand new red M3 convertible on their showroom floor. I wasn't interested, but when I commented that it looked nice, the sales manager said "we can make you a great deal", which I interpreted to be invoice or less. I would think you could do better on a used/demo M3, with 1,800 miles on it. At least in our ... Read More

Hello everyone. First, thanks for all the info - I'm truly learning a lot. I've always wanted a BMW and finally at the point where I can "afford" (i.e., struggle but get it) one. Here's the deal I was offered on a 2006 M3 convertible: Money factor - .0031 (i might be missing a zero but its definately .something 31) MSRP - 62,500 (I've checked on Edmunds and w/the features it ... Does anyone has any pics for the new design M3? If you do, please post them. And when will the new model come out? I cannot get a straight answer from the dealers in Houston. They are still pushing the current models real hard. I agree with others. I do not think I should pay $65,000 for a M3 now when the new design M3 going to come out at the ... Read More
