I've owned hundreds of vehicles and by far BMW got it right on the money! If you like fast, quiet, smooth, rock solid rides, this one's for you. The ulitimate road trip machine!
Favorite Features
The engine is the heart and soul of this beast and backed by a fantastic trans.
Suggested Improvements
Cupholders. They should warranty these for life.

The car is new to me - but has exceeded my expectations in every way, peroformance, ride, and handling are outstanding. The Sport Pkg stiffens the ride and the seats are fairly restraining - much more so than the non sport pkg - but that's why I bought it. Classic lines and enough room for 5 people. Nice exaust note as well. I shopped the Audi A8, Mercedes E500, Lexus, and Infinity - each time, I came up with more value and more car for the money with the BMW. Would only buy this car though with the Sport Package (Steptronic). Much more fun to drive!
Favorite Features
Exterior, 18" M style parallel wheels, handling, seats, engine.
Suggested Improvements
Can't complain about 16.5 mpg around town with an 8 cylinder - but like so many others, I agree...the cup holders are worthless!

High miles good value
Vehicle
2000 BMW 7 Series 4 Dr 740iL Sedan
Review
With 69K miles, I was not too concerned, since the car was extremely clean and new brakes and rotors. Since purchased, had to replace camshaft positioning sensor - $180 installed. Car was running poorly and engine light was on - fixed now. Moreover, had to replace front sway bar tie rod ends - $80.00 self installed. Car still running strong - next maintenance will be plugs, fluid changes.
Favorite Features
Upgraded M wheels, heated wheel
Suggested Improvements
Cup holders, 12 cd changer - instead of 6, door locks on doors verses center consel.

Dies ist ein großes Auto!

2000 BMW 7 Series 4 Dr 740iL Sedan
Review
This by far is the finest automobile I have ever owned. Bought it certified from the dealer. They have been great. This car is fast, quiet and a great handling vehicle. Maintenance items covered under warranty: New radiator, rain sensor, valve timing sensor. The regular maintenace items are in line with what a car this complex should cost.
Favorite Features
Ride, craftmenship, attention to detail, navigation system and safety.

Ultimate Driving Machine

2000 BMW 7 Series 4 Dr 740iL Sedan
Review
It is certainly a great car. The handling is superb -- acceleration, steering, and braking. Its exterior design is beautiful -- far better than the new 745. The ride is comfortable, but you can "feel the road", unlike some other luxury cars which are cushiony. I highly recommend this car.
Favorite Features
Acceleration, sterring, braking. Exterior and interior design. Sound system, rain-sensing wipers, self-dimming rear-view mirror, comfortable driver's seat. Headlights, folding side-view mirrors.
Suggested Improvements
Matt finish on the wood (available on 745) Digital clock on dash Memory on passenger seat (again available on 745) More capacity than 6 CDs

This is an awesome road car. I've driven it about 5,000 miles on 6 trips in 4 months and am very pleased. This was a BMW certified unit. So far, no problems, but the Service Engine Soon light comes on intermittently; service center says it is likely something on the emissions systems.
Favorite Features
14 way power seats on the Sport model. Power to spare.
Suggested Improvements
Navigation system is clumsy; cup holders could certainly be improved; gas mileage is not as good as on my previous 740 (attribute to the Sport package with the step-tronic tranny and a slower rear end ratio).

740i - Performance with Elegance
Vehicle
2000 BMW 7 Series 4 Dr 740iA Sedan
Review
As a prior owner of Infiniti and Lexus, this car is definitely not Japanese. Like Q45 it's performance oriented and does it in a style. Like Lexus it's luxurious yet rugged. Even though it's interior is not as a sophisticated as a Jaguar, it's still very uptown. It's the Drivers Car. On a twisting road it lets you know it's a BMW.

Fun driving big sedan
Vehicle
2000 BMW 7 Series 4 Dr 740iA Sedan
Review
This is my first BMW and so far in over a year it's been fairly reliable - the only problem was a battery that failed about 2 months ago. I expected a competent sedan - but realize every day that this is a performance sedan first, that also happens to be quite luxurious. I can't imagine having more fun driving four of my full sized friends in exceptional comfort...
Favorite Features
Powerful, stable driving, without giving up comfort
Suggested Improvements
Cupholders - but the aftermarket has provided some good alternatives

Review
As a previous owner of Japenese luxury vehicles, I thought it was about time to give BMW a try. One ride in a 740il as a passenger and driver was all it took. The 740il has it al. For a large (and I mean large)sedan, the 740 rides like no other vehicle. Super smooth, powerful engine, nearly perfect transmission and by far, the ultimate ride with extremely goo handling. Compared to Benz, Lexus, Infinity etc. nothing really compares. It's gorgeous inside and out but be prepared for big ticket maintenance costs. Nothing is cheap on a BMW!!
Favorite Features
Stylish exterior/interior. Roomy back seat. Powerful, smooth. Ride is almost unbelievable. Heavy solid car, yet feels like gliding on air. Quiet. Driving 90 mph feels like 50. 3 Memory settings for seat, miror and steering wheel-YES!
Suggested Improvements
Cup Holders.the worst! Radio is OK but overated. OnBoard Computer is clumsy. GPS is also not user friendly. Moonroof squeeks. Integrated phone is not portable. Takes up all the space on center arm console. fold down rear. More leg room in driver and front passenger seats.
