Just purchased a 2006 525i this week. This is my second BMW (just upgraded from a 3-series to a 5-series). Overall driving performance of car is outstanding. Like the design, however, I think the technology could be improved. The idrive takes a bit getting used to but is easy to learn. Disappointed to find out that Bluetooth on cellphone not compatible w/ BMW system (I have a new Motorola MPx220 Smartphone w/ Cingular)-apparently PDA- phones like Blackberries, Smartphones, iPaq's, etc. are not compatible w/ BMW system
Favorites include the 1)XM Satellite radio 2)Ventilation timer (can set system to remove hot air in car a specified time before leaving office, going to lunch, etc) 3)Computer monitors systems and notifies BMW service for you 4)Bluetooth (if it worked)
1) Improve bluetooth compatibility with additional phones -- especially Blackberry, Smartphones, etc. (currently only 10 cellphone models hacross all providers ave been deemed compatible with the BMW system). 2) Navigation system should be standard with this price class (as is with the Acura TL)
