Re: 2011 BMW 528 Pricing [carbird]
Written by: gardis on Jun 29, 2010 6:04:24 PM
Carbird, I have 19" sport rims on my 530i (2007) as measured from outer edge of rim straight across to outer edge (is that how you measure them?). They come with the sport package. If you get a basic 528, you will get basic rims, I don't know what size they are. The BMW rims are very very expensive, can easily cost over $2000 for a full set of 4, depending ... Read More

It looks like the 18" are only available with the Sport Package ($2200).. But, you should check with a dealer.. sometimes, there are options available on ordered cars that don't show up on-line.... I would guess that if 18" were an option from the factory, they would be around $800-$900.. As a dealer accessory, probably $2000. Why do you consider the 17" too small? Looks?

Re: Pricing discussion on a new 528i / 535i [drakej]
Written by: phylp on Jun 14, 2010 12:34:42 PM
I am sure that Edmunds forums helped me to get fair prices when I purchased a Volvo S80 in 2000 and a Lexus RX330 in 2003. Same for the 2008 BMW 535i I purchased last fall. And, I posted about my BMW buying experience then, including the price I paid. If someone found that helpful, good. If not, also good. I appreciate all the helpful info disclosed here and encourage others ... Read More

Hard to say with so little info. Might be just a simple thing like a stuck thermostat or some such, or you could have the typical BMW issue of a cracked radiator.

Well you know, IF the coolant is low enough, the temp gauge won't read...it can't read "steam" in other words..it needs to be submerged in a liquid. If you are gushing steaming hot water out, you should not be driving this car ONE FURTHER INCH.

Im not sure where the water was coming out from...im guessing from the radiator. But the temp gage was normal... it wasnt over heating or anything.

Selling England by the Pound -- Genesis. You win the cupie doll, Pat! Here in Cincinnati, the new generation of BMW's with that spanky new "35" twin turbo engine are rolling out -- at this point, the 335 sedan and coupes are RWD, but already the 328 is offered with AWD and next year the X drive option will be added for about $1900. It promises to be a brisk seller. ... Read More

I'm for going first with a push (which will happen apparently with the tax credits for diesel continuing) for clean diesel cars: such BMW, Mercedes, Audi have demonstrated (powerful, not smelly, fuel efficient and in several other ways potentially easier on the pocketbook.) Then, ramp up NOT the production of ethanol (doh!) which has about 70% of the MPG capability as gasoline, ramp up the production of bio-diesel which these cars ... Read More

As a card carrying geek (or at least a member of older-geeks-USA), the Acura has very little geek appeal from what I can see. My friends, my non-Audi, but often BMW driving/owning friends have, for years, called Audis the "technofile's" car (which is pretty close to geek.) This WAS because the Audi cockpits had full gauges, all wheel drive, knobs and push and pull buttons/levers and the word quattro spelled out ... Read More

Drove the Acura RDX the other night and was enthusisatic about the vehicle. Didn't like the no-budge MSRP of $33,600 plus fees. How would you compare the BMW x-3 to the Acura? I just had the turbos replaced on my 2000 A6 w/95,000 last week and now the "check engine" light is on again, fairly sure it is a mass air sensor or some similar part.Once this is repaired, going to ... Re: The BMW "Brand" [drtravel]

Back in 1991 I was standing in line at a movie theater and I saw this great looking car drive by... it was the brand new Lexus SC 400. So a few months later I had to buy one. They still look great although the new style SC looks worse than even Bangle's nightmares. I remember when I first drove the original SC being extremely impressed by how modern and intuitive ...
