    The lower mileage I found the price were more than ten grand. The higher mileage I found the price were in the range of seven grand to nine grand regardless of the year and the model of the 5 series.     BMW NA has a penchant for adding the M Sport trim to the Sport packages of their older platforms. This was the case with the 1999 E36 328is Sport Package coupes, the last E39 540i Sports, and the E46 330i ZHP. Late last year my dealer took a gorgeous 2003 Topaz Blue 540i Sport in trade. I would have bought it but unfortunately it was a slushbox... :(

    I was told by a dealer that the MF is 0.0014 for Feb (for a 36 month lease on a 530i), and he needs to add on top another 0.00015 if I don't want to put down any security deposit. But then I leased a BMW with BMWFS before (1999-2002), can that 0.00015 be waived? BTW, does anybody know the base rate or MF for the month of March? Thanks.

    My 1999 328i that replaced my 1995 VR6 Passat GLX was actually cheaper to insure because even though repair costs were higher, the theft and personal injury were lower. My 530i is only marginally more expensive than the 328i was (by something like $50 per year) and only $100 per year than my wife's new Caravan. I too have found that BMWs are fairly cheap to insure.     BMW uses a 15w40 mineral based oil and a 5w30 synthetic, both produced by Castrol for BMW. If your car is a 1999 or later I strongly suggest synthetic, because engine tolerances changed in that model year. Castrol Syn-Tech 5w30 is the same as the BMW synthetic, so it is a good choice.
