Re: Thoughts from a 3-series driver [steveinvt]
I am hesitant to buy a BMW because service costs out of warranty can be insane. The two main groups that perpetuate the "BMWs cost a bazillion dollars to fix" myth are: 1. Shady BMW dealers who are trying to scare customers into a new or CPO car. 2. Envious fools with a "sour grapes" mentality. Speaking of fools, on one of the Mazdaspeed boards(where opposable thumbs ... Read More...

I'd offer no more than $27K. Seriously. My Louisville dealer has two 2008 328i loaners- Here's one, and here's the other. I'd bet you that I could pick up either one for no more than $28K- easy. Read More...

Re: RTF/GFT for 330i Sport Package [Liz_b]
A quick question. What is your driving style and your driving profile. For example the Michelin tire you mentioned earlier is known as a high mileage tire. It lasts for a long time. By doing so it gives up handling and a certain degree of crispness in driving feedback. High performance summer tires are a joy to drive but in most cases wear quickly and in temperatures ... Re: decisions [ivan_99]
The mind says: Go with the Lexus. I love my BMW's, but even if you have no unusual problems with the turbos, the maintenance is going to be expensive.... You're going to need both brakes and run-flats in 25k miles and remember that: a. It's both pads AND rotors for the BMW b. The run-flats are more expensive than go-flats. It's also possible that you'll need shocks ... Read More...

Re: Keep my BMW 2006 330xi or lease a BMW 2008 328i? [romboggie]
I don't see any advantagewhatsoever to your doing this. You can 'walk away' from the 330 anytime because you own it. You can't get out of the lease for 36 months AND you have zero equity in the 328. At least in 36 months you'll have equity in the 330 and probably won't be upside down on the loan. Besides all that, 10K miles a year is not such a good idea. You'll go over that ... Read More...
