Help Buying A BMW or InfinitiG35x

Re: Help Buying A BMW or InfinitiG35x [smartguy06]

One comment I would make is I believe BWM started offering a 6 speed vice 5 speed auto in 2006 compared to 2005. My wife had a 2001 330Xi with a 5 speed auto, and then I had a 2006 330Xi with a 6 speed auto, and I definitely preferred the 6 speed. This is not quite apples to apples, as the 2006 engine had more pwer than the 2001, but I felt the 6 speed AT was more responsive and ... Read More...

Re: Stop Bellyaching on Pricing [tayl0rd]

I agree, that asking price is high by $7-$10k. However, not sure where you are getting 6 years old. My (late production) 2005 911S is 26 months old. The local BMW dealer wants me to come in for a "great deal" on a brand new 2007 550i 6-speed (not a demo 23 miles on odometer). So, worst case scenario, that M5 is just barely 5 years old, possible as little as 4 and a couple ... Read More...

Re: Advice on buying 2005 BMW 325i [starbuxx]

Would you move on based on this or still have it inspected. I'd move on; a hit reduces the value of the car by 10%-20%. Who knows if the repair work was performed to BMW standards? Why settle for a car that's been hit when you can probably find 30-50 other E46 3ers for sale within 100 miles of your home? Read More...

Re: Advice on buying 2005 BMW 325i [Mr_Shiftright]

I ran my own Carfax report at the suggestion of my insurance company and it does indicate on accident on January 2006 with moderate damage. It doesn't give specifics but does say it was front impact. Would you move on based on this or still have it inspected. My Honda was hit from behind two years ago and I have $5000 damage and it continues to run fine. There was no structural ... Read More...
