Will BMW get rid of RFT's?

I have a 2007 328XI with Conti RFTs. I complained of noisy rough ride and at about 3K miles, the dealer changed the Bridgestones to Contis at no charge. Although better, the Contis are still noisy and ride rough. I had a BMW 3 series 2001 and 2004 with regular tires (not RFTs). Much more enjoyable ride and not noisy. Are RFTs here forever? I live in Toronto so let me take a stab at your questions: 1. You can get 4 tires and install them on your current rims, however, if you plan on keeping your car and being in Indianapolis for some time, it is recommended you get 4 rims. 2. Hi dear all, I will move to Indianapolis from LA this Dec. I might drive my 2004 325Ci to there. Because this is a RWD, I am thinking to replace winter tires. Conflicted again! I had been assuming I should just get AWD for North East winters in NJ. I had read about snow tires and I am convinced they will make a difference on RWD cars like the BMW 328 I am interested in buying. What I am not convinced on yet: - How big a difference? Firstly, the MSRP you listed for the 328xi is high--should be closer to $38,400 bog standard without any fees, metallic paint, anything. Secondly, I'm not sure I follow your reasoning in regards to trading in the car in 5 years time. It has premium package, heated seats and all that...don't know prices or resale values well.. Deal or NO Deal... Both cars are pretty reliable, but I'd give the edge to the 3er. For $18K you can possibly find a 2004 330i ZHP, which is the most fun you can have in a 3er short of an M3. Read More...

We recently went looking to replace our 03 A4 1.8T quattro. All the cars we looked at would be good choices, depending on your priorities. MB C300 4matic- really liked the looks, smallish trunk, definitely a contender. BMW 328xi- excellent handling, not sure we like the runflat tires, small trunk. G35x- handles like a big car, big HP means less mpg, many nice features. ... Read More...
