great car to drive but my car has been in the shop for the last 5 days they don't know what is wrong with the engine and can't seem to fix the vibration in the steering wheel, the sport steering wheel was not even centered when i bought it.I have 8000 miles and they also just replaced the radio???? this is my first bmw and don't know if i would buy another. Air noise is terrible. you would think the windows are down. problems with this car since day 1

Review

I traded in my 03 G35 because it rode to stiff and had to much road noise. I could not be happier with my decision. This is a true drivers car, confortable and decent power (my G35 was much faster)with smooth delivery and quieter than the G35. I purchased a BLACK ext. with tan leather. The only 2 problems I had were the brake pedal and steering vibrated when I applied the brakes and at 200 miles the engine misfired (was running on 5 cyl). I had to pull over to then side of the road called BMW, they told me to turn the engine off then re-start it,the problem went away. I took it in for service the following week and they changed the no#3 coil and the rotors.

Favorite Features

rain sensing wipers, remote opening of all windows and sunroof (Very useful in Florida)

Suggested Improvements

Second cup holder should no be under the armrest. Harmon Kardon radio is not as good as the standard Infiniti G35 system, need major improvement. All progamable features should be in owners manual not done only at BMW service center. Power tilt and telescopic steering wheel.

I've had this car for 2500 miles now and can only say that it has the worst suspension, and drive by wire system imaginable. There is a 0.5 second delay after you hit the accelerator, and the car bounces, floats, and leans terribly regarding the suspension. The interior is nice and clean. However the performance suffers so greatly, I am going to have to upgrade both the suspension and software to make it livable. I thought it was the break in period, but alas, it's made this way. Not recommended for anyone that owned a previous (E36 model years) BMW. The XI version drives more like an SUV than a sedan. For the money, it's not worth it.

Favorite Features

Auto up or down windows on all doors, radio controls on steering wheel, practical hood latch.

Suggested Improvements

Handling is terrible. Defrosters on windows and mirrors are useless. Upgrade the suspension and speak to Honda about electronics. How did this car get such good consumer reviews? They must have thought they were rating the i, not the xi. Totally different car.

Purchased for spouse's daily driver, this well- engineered & executed auto meets both her needs and mine. For her, it's a safe, comfortable car, easy-to-drive (w/ Steptronic); for me, it's got plenty of handling and power to meet my needs for a bit of fun driving, have even been to track school. This car has turned me into a fan of RWD again, (and even in winter handles great with Dunlap Snows). And, nothing can beat the wonderfully smooth inline 6 the BMW has perfected. All in all, a great auto!

It's always being a dream of mine to own a BMW. I guess the moral of the story is be careful what you wish for... it might come true. It is a nice car to drive, good handling, performance is somewhat lacking with the manual transmission, but I've brought it back to the shop almost every month since it was 3months old with one problem or another. Tulley BMW of Nashua are terrible, guess their a known problem in BMW circles. BMW have put me in touch with another dealer who hopefully resolve the problems you wouldn't expect in a car that costs this much.

Favorite Features

The problems I've had with this car have really stopped me from enjoying it or noticing what's good with it.

Suggested Improvements

Quality: Car rattles in several places, loose rear seats, engine stalls in wet/damp weather, electronics have also had problems. Impossible to get Tulley BMW Nashua to fix the problems. If your self employed it will cost you a fortune with lost income, bringing this car back to the shop.

Mine is loaded - all available options 6 sd manual mystic blue conv. Gray Leather/wood trim. Best car I have ever driven. Wish it was a bit faster - will probably upgarde to an M3 next year. I have had this car up to 140 mph and the car handles awesome and purr's like a kitten. I love the sound of the motor, it is undertstated but you know its their.

Favorite Features

Heated seats, auto convertible, 6 speed, dash layout, adaptive lights, the body style, paint is awesome and looks great. Rims catch too much break dust though.

Suggested Improvements

The sound system sucks - the head unit has very little power and no bottom end with our without the top up/down. For the money this should be a much better system/rig - I do sound professionally. Have also had problems with the key and having to be close to the car for the door unlock

Pros: Great handling takes curves with ease. I was afraid of pushing the vehicle to hard in turns but somehow it begs to be driven harder. Good gas mileage on highway (32 mpg around 65mph)Cons: Cheap interior plastic, going over bumps I can hear plastic rattling as it just doesn't fit right. The engine has a bit too much growl inside the cabin. I owned an IS300 prior to this and Lexus engine is so much more subdued even when pushed. The interior on the IS was more refined simply because the cabin is quiet and you can't hear the plastic when going over bumps. Harmon Kardon needs improvement. My IS with Nackamichi was much better. Overall: Truly a SPORTS car with little luxury conveniences

Favorite Features

Handling is great, fun-to-drive sport sedan. If you enjoy driving a great sports sedan and tossing it around curves then you'll enjoy the 330i. No better way to put down the fact that this is a great sports car and not a commuter car. This car begs to be driven.

Suggested Improvements

Need to upgrade the interior cheap plastics on armrest and footrest. A little too much engine growl in my opinion. Would like a quieter cabin. Ride is a little too firm in downtown city driving especially when posed with a lot of broken streets. Improve Harmon Kardon stereo.

Purchased 2004 330ci in June 2003. This is a fun car to drive, and the handling is superlative. However, with 10K miles have already replaced transmission and 6 ignition coils. What has happened to BMW reliability?

A bit tight for drives over 100 miles. I bit hard to get in and out for a 60+ youngster, but definitely a great fun car to drive. Great classic looks. Extra power that gets you out of compromissed situations. Real milage consumtion if you want to enjoy the sports feel is 14/15 town, 19/22 road.

Favorite Features

Acceleration.Handling.Engine sound.Turns and stops on a dime. You can get guests in the back seat when dinning out.

Suggested Improvements

Overdrive alternative. This would allow to improve gas consumption.
