2004 BMW 3 Series 325i Rwd 4dr Sedan (2.5L 6cyl 5M)

After hearing about a friend who got injured in a head-on collision, it made me consider buying a safe car. DSC, HPS, Side airbags, confident suspension assure me that my family is safe inside this car. My first BMW is the most basic but the handling never fails to amaze me. Try entering a busy street at 40 mph while car is filled with people and groceries and you'll see what I mean.
Favorite Features

Suggested Improvements
The cd player skips a lot and does not play CDr's that other players plays. The radio reception is poor. I should have upgraded the sound system. I wish mine has rear side airbags.
Nice, but not well built

Fun to drive when it's willing to work. Many trips to dealership. All problems were fixed at free of cost. but what will happen after warranty expires? I'll be doomed... power window failed twice. Trunk opens on its own(dealer thoght I was crazy but later they found the problem and fixed)small but annoying rattle coming from the dash board. Brake pad squeaks but dealer says it's supposed to do that.. auto headlight is on day and night. if you really want a BMW then go for it.. but dont' buy it. lease it.

2004 BMW 3 Series 325xi AWD 4dr Sedan (2.5L 6cyl 5M)
Review
A pure driver's car! Outstanding driving characteristics throughout. Anyone driving this car should feel like he owns the road. Handling, acceleration, braking, and overall control and visibility are excellent. Very solid feel. You will not regret buying this car. Also, there are very attractive deals available for it.
Favorite Features
Superb handling, xenon lights, fit and finish, extremely fast on highway, excellent brakes and ride. Well worthwhile.
Suggested Improvements
Fuel economy is poor. Also, not as fast off the line with an automatic transmission.

2004 BMW 3 Series 330xi AWD 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl 6M)
Review
I previously owned a 2001 330xi and was looking forward to owning another. While the reliability is terrific, this car is not as well designed--and has developed many vibrations and rattles and does not handle nearly as well. The quality has diminished (for example, two of the speakers, one of the mirrors and the front brakes have all been replaced). There are many other cars on the market which offer better value.
Favorite Features
Heated seats; traction in bad weather
Suggested Improvements
Steering wheel is too small; seats are not comfortable for long trips; there is very limited storage space inside the car; auto-dimming mirror cannot be put in a normal mode (hard to see cars at night).

BMW BUYER BEWARE
Vehicle
2004 BMW 3 Series 330Ci Rwd 2dr Coupe (3.0L 6cyl 6M)
Review
I purchased my 2004 330ci coupe in 08/2003. As I drove it home and I slide the sunroof cover closed it the plastic retaining clips holding the cover broke. BMW fixed it with metal clips. 2nd problem battery died due to heat seats software problem left one of the battery cells on after car was turned off and drained the battery. BMW fixed this by updating software and replacing battery. 3rd problem I ran out of gas when the gas gauge showed 1/4 tank of gas left. Fuel sensor gets clogged and fuel gauge stops working. Bmw does not have a fix for this accept to clean the fuel sensor with a easer the 1st time and replace the sensor the 2nd time. I'm sorry I sold my Toyota 4Runner!
Favorite Features
Sweet car when it runs. After having 3 problems im scared to drive it. I worry the thing will break again. I would not drive this car across country. The Fuel sensor sucks and BMW better fix this problem by developing a stainless steel sensor instead of the one that comes on it.
Suggested Improvements
Fix the fuel sensor. Don't buy a BMW. Buy a Toyota or a Lexus!

Okay.. I don't even drive much. in fact I have 7000 miles on my car after having it for a year.(it's a 2003). So far I had to get my car fixed 4 times. Twice engine related problems. My 2002 Hyundai Sonata has been much much more reliable than this junk. I like the prestige of owning a BMW but that's about it. and what kind fo 30K+ car doesn't even have a CD changer?? German quality cannot compete with Asian brands any more...

2004 BMW 3 Series 330Ci Rwd 2dr Coupe (3.0L 6cyl 6M)

Ti silver '04 330Ci with sport and premium packages and Al trim. PROS: Extremely fun to drive on any road! Smooth, sleek, beautiful and sexy exterior & interior. Plenty HP and torque. Tight suspension. Precision steering. CONS: Has issues cold starting in winter months. The climate control is not intuitive and doesn't remember to recirculate air. Too much wind noise at 70 MPH. Lifting seats will smash the back passenger's feet. Insufficient leg room for rear passengers. Horrendous brake dust problems on wheels. Quirky electronics: trunk light flickers, OBC inaccurate. 60 cycle hum out of speakers on all 3 Series w/wo premium HK sound. 1 CD in-dash player w/o song repeat.
Favorite Features
Acceleration and handling Auto-dimming rear view mirror. Seat & mirror memory. Radio/Cruise control on the steering column. Audible locking mechanism. Right side mirror adjusts automatically for parallel parking. Full size spare! Tool kit and rechargeable flash light. Full Maintenance!
Suggested Improvements
Add ID3 Tag support for iPod on a modern head unit with a 6 CD in-dash changer (like Honda) Add space to place CD sleeves or cases. Remove the R/T button from the steering column. Remove the red nipple from the rear view mirror. Add rear cup holders. Reduce rattles and annoying 60-cycle hum.

EXCELLENT PERFORMING VEHICLE THAT GETS BETTER MILEAGE THE HARDER YOU DRIVE IT. THE STEPTRONIC TRANSMISSION IS THE KEY TO FUEL EFFICIENCY ON CITY OR MOUNTAIN DRIVING. LOVE THIS CAR. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS AFTER DRIVING FOR 5 HOURS THE SEATS IN THE 325I REALLY START HURTING THE BACK. NO LUMBAR SUPPORT. OVERALL RATING IS HIGH.
Favorite Features
I LOVE THE OPTION TO SWITCH TO MANUAL FOR THE ULTIMATE IN DRIVING PERFORMANCE. THE 325I SERIES HUGS THE ROAD AND PERFORMS LIKE NOTHING I HAVE EVER DRIVEN. A REAL PLEASURE TO OWN AND DRIVE.
Suggested Improvements
THE SEATS COULD BE IMPROVED UPON FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGER. NOT ENOUGH LUMBAR SUPPORT FOR LONG TRIPS.
What a blast!

My dream car has been the BMW...I have had this 330Ci with Premium, Sport, Cold Weather packages for just under a year. I have over 15000 miles on it, and thoroughly enjoy it. I have had some minor problems with the driver door handle but other than that its been the dream I thought it would be. Definitely a head turner! Still can't believe its mine!

Sport Seats, Harmon Kardon System sounds great, adaptive headlights, smooth shifting manual, auto down/up windows, ride is silky smooth cruising on interstate, excellent highway mileage, usually 30+;
Suggested Improvements
Shorter throw shifter, adaptive headlights that turn more, reflectors on front bumper should be white or clear, brake pads that produce less brake dust, standard satellite radio, 6- disc in-dash changer that plays MP3s, cooled seats, put satellite radio antenna into shark fin, tinted windows
