fomentar - All owners manuals want you to use only OEM accessories. Don't know why you ask, but don't be too worried. I have not used Finish First, but have used several other synthetic wax products on my BMW - they are fine and do provide a very deep shine. ajl1000 - Congratulations on your purchase. I too have a 2000 323i (23,000 miles) and, yes it does have DSC along ... Read More...

2001 325XI or New Car

Re: 2001 325XI or New Car [kcasale]

I own a 2001 BMW 325XI with 92,000 miles. Two recent repairs--thermostats and expansion tank & throttle body and engine wire harness--have been costly. Thermostat and expansion tank failures aren't that uncommon, but they aren't expenive to rectify either. Why did you need a new throttle body and wiring harness? I've never had to replace either on any BMW I've ... Read More...

2001 325XI or New Car

I own a 2001 BMW 325XI with 92,000 miles. Two recent repairs--thermostats and expansion tank & throttle body and engine wire harness--have been costly. BMW service advisors tell me to expect things to happen due to high mileage. I'm seeking advice from experienced BMW owners--to keep my car or purchase a new vehicle, as I do not want to put thousands of dollars ... Read More...

2007 BMW 328/335 vs Nissan Altima 2007 3.5 SE/SL

This is a joke, right?

I know this is an old thread, but it's got to be a joke, right? Don't get me wrong, the Altima is a great car - especially the 3.5SL. In fact, I'll probably buy one in the next few weeks. I can't speak directly for the current 3 series, but I had a 2001 BMW z3, and the altima doesn't compare. Sure, it's probably just as fast, or even faster, but that's only part of it. My wife ... Various

Brave: I thought I had a stiff neck for a day or two - but that may just be from my normal level of stress!!! Three kids, a high maintenance wife, and a high stress job will do that to you. kdshapiro: I agree that you can't upgrade the base stereo aftermarket for anywhere near $650. So, in that respect, the HK is not a rip-off. Its probably equal to the Infinity system in ... Read More...

2.9 Percent on 2000 CPOs

climatecontrol... My local midwestern dealer is offering 2.9 percent on CPO MY2000 cars. Believe that is thru BMW Financial Services. Your friend should talk to the dealership about finance rates for CPO BMWs. In MY2000, it was the 323i. 325i came out in 2001. Read More...

Car shopping for a friend

Hello room, I just wanted to ask a question. I have a friend in the market for a newer car under $25K. He is looking at a 2002 Nissan Maxima SE with leather pack, auto, sunroof, bose. He has been cross shopping other cars. So far he has came up with a Linc L.S. V8, a 2001 Acura CL coupe Type S(asking $20,900 for the CL), and a 2000 BMW 325i sedan. All cars have between 20-30K ... Re: 2008 328i Fuel Pump Recall [Mr_Shiftright]

I'm thinking the radiator auxuliary cooling fan debacle from the 2001 vintage E46s easily blew through the 10% failure rate. With that fan, it wasn't a matter of if, it was a matter of when it would fail. As I recall, BMW ponied up and replaced every fan out in the field, regardless of whether it failed or not. Strictly put, the problem was with one of BMWs suppliers, ... Read More...

This is starting to get interesting

OK, so Saturday after work I make a concious decision to bring my 1990 325i down to the Speed & Sound shop (that I have trusted my 2001 Prelude to for its modifications) for them to rip out the alarm system completely. Every time I walk by the car, the lights are blinking and it is going to KILL  the battery. I tell my wife we'll drop it off on our way to dinner. I hop ... Read More...
