I purchased my BMW 328 with 44,000 miles on it. It is beautiful and drives like a dream. The problem is that many little things keep breaking. I don't even drive it everyday. I have only put 5,000 miles on it in one year. It has been in the shop 3 X. Currently, the emergency light is not working. That's bad. Great cars but make sure that you buy the warranty. Also, when you call to get it fixed the wait is 2 weeks. Good thing I have a backup car. My dependable Jeep Grand Cherokee! (for real) Husband drives a 1991 BMW and has had no trouble with it. Purchased it with 65,000 miles on it. Again, make sure you get the warranty!
Favorite Features
Tightness of steering, radio, heated seats

Extended warranty 10 years/100,000. We should get this for what we paid for these cars.

I have had my 2000 323iA for almost two years and the vehicle has 80k on the odometer. I drive over 100 mi round trip to work every day and average 30+ mpg on the highway during the warmer months. Overall average is 27+ mpg. I use dedicated snow tires during the winter and the car is wonderful in bad conditions. I have the required servicing performed and change the oil and filter at 8k intervals. I value this car for its driving characteristics, safety and overall appearance. Best car I have ever owned. Wife wants to drive it all the time as well. When I compare to other vehicles, I keep coming back to BMW. This is my 5th BMW over the past 20 yrs.
Favorite Features
Quiteness and nice sounding mechanicals. Handling in all conditions, decent fuel economy and the overall feel of the car.

I fell in love with this car the minute I saw it! It is perfect for commuting to work as well as weekend camping trips. I had never owned a BMW before and now I know why they are so popular.
Favorite Features
Very smooth ride in the city and on the highway. I love the steptronic feature and it is very efficient with gas on the highway.
Suggested Improvements
I usually like to use the vent in the car for air circulation, but the engine runs a bit hot, so only hot air is blown in the car....

This car is everything we could have asked for. It's fun to drive, everytime I get into it I renew my love for it. We came out of a Cadillac Seville STS and will probably never go back.

HANDLING! This car handles like it's on rails. A real pleasure to drive in the twisties and I live near some of the best mountain roads in the country.

I have owned 3 3-series BMWs ('95 325, '96 328 and 2000 323) in the past few years, after many years of new and used Hondas. The BMW 3 series is a great car that driving enthusiasts will appreciate, but normal drivers may not. I recently purchased a '96 328 (work car) with 123,000 miles that drives better than any Honda I ever owned. At 60,000 miles, most Honda's start to feel like it's time to trade; BMWs feel like they are reaching middle age. You really can not appreciate it unless you compare and feel the difference between a substantial car and a lightweight. I'm not a BMW fanatic, just someone who appreciates quality and a great driving experience.

Wonderful design detail. It looks so simple at first, then look closer... Great engine. Could it be any better? Mileage. How could this much fun come with this much mileage? Handling. Great compromise, but tilted toward performance. Perfect. Just plain solid.

Everything is expensive for BMW's. How can there be this many 85 Monte Carlos left, and how can they all be parked next to me? Honestly, this car is a beater magnet in parking lots!

This is the worst nightmare I have experienced with a vehicle. I have owned this vehicle for thirteen months and it has been in the shop nine times, with major mechanical problems including but not limited to, a new engine at 40000 miles and a new transmission at 60000. The only good thing I have to say about this vehicle, it is fun to drive when it will drive. Nice to look at but, Just say NO!
