TOKYO — Subaru will unveil a compact crossover design study called XV Concept next week at the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show.
A teaser image of the vehicle shows a strong resemblance to the Impreza XV concept that was released a year ago at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show.
Subaru last week released the first image of the redesigned Impreza sedan that will be introduced next week at the 2011 New York Auto Show, but has yet to announce plans to offer an Impreza XV in the U.S.
In a brief press release that accompanied the XV Concept teaser image, Subaru described the car as a "new generation of crossover vehicle" with "truly innovative styling." It said the XV Concept would feature all-wheel drive, but offered no further details.
Edmunds.com says: The XV could be an interesting addition to Subaru's U.S. lineup, especially when gas prices top $4 a gallon. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
