Kia Goes Groovy With Music-Themed 2014 Soul Concepts at 2013 SEMA Show
- Kia Motors America opened the 2013 SEMA Show with five music-inspired 2014 Kia Souls.
- One modified Soul features a rising DJ stage with pro-grade Pioneer CDJs and a mixer.
- Another 2014 Kia Soul pays tribute to NBC's The Voice.
The 2014 Kia Soul Music Memorabilia is a rolling museum that honors industry icons. It features a guitar signed by Slash from Guns N' Roses, a Jimi Hendrix gold album, G-Unit shoe signed by 50 Cent and a signed John Legend microphone. The subcompact car received a platinum silver paint job, gold exhaust tips and 20-inch gold wheels.
Kia also teased its 2014 Vans Warped Tour Soul before the aftermarket show. This heavily modified 2014 Soul has eight Infinity speakers that replace the side windows. A custom paint job with airbrushed artwork, slide-out rear barbeque, 50-inch television, 20-inch wheels and a Vans hood ornament add to the list of changes.
Third up is the 2014 Amped Soul. This stereo on wheels has suicide doors that make room for JBL Pro Live sound equipment and four 12-inch Infinity subwoofers. Car modifications include blacked-out windows, a portable stage, white paint job and 22-inch wheels. Kia rolled out the portable stage for rocker Leona X to show off the sound equipment yesterday at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
"Since the Kia Soul first arrived on the scene in America in 2009, it has established a very real and remarkable connection with music," said Michael Sprague, executive vice president of marketing and communications for Kia Motors America.
Thanks to Kia's sponsorship, a special 2014 Kia Soul was built paying tribute to NBC's TV show The Voice. It gets The Voice logo painted on the side, a bright red paint job, LED puddle projectors, 20-inch wheels and a karaoke setup that allows riders to belt out notes through a custom Rockford Fosgate speaker setup.
Although Kia's already-legendary hamsters are missing from Kia's final SEMA-show effort, there is no doubt that they would be right at home in the 2014 Kia Soul DJ Booth. The roof was removed to allow for a rising DJ stage that includes pro-grade Pioneer CDJs and a mixer. The purple paint works with 19-inch wheels, a lowered stance, LED lighting and front and rear strobe lights to amplify the car's look.
Edmunds says: Kia rocks out at SEMA with its funky 2014 Souls.
