LAS VEGAS — The Mazda MX-5 Super25 Concept stands out at the 2012 SEMA Show with its custom four-lamp lighting pod and Mazdaspeed Motorsports Development livery.
The MX-5 Super25, which is built for endurance racing, is spun off the Super20 previously shown at SEMA.
"The MX-5 was an optimal choice for creating a concept with the ability to handle long-distance, weary-heavy racing," said Mazda in a statement.
The special MX-5 gets the number "55," the same number that adorned the company's 1991 24 Hours of Mans-winning rotary prototype.
Details include a Sparco Evo competition racing seat and a suede Sparco R323 competition steering wheel.
Edmunds says: The extreme MX-5 is not a production-intent concept, so you likely won't see it anywhere but SEMA.
