DETROIT — The Chevrolet Malibu Turbo Performance Concept and a 2014 Chevrolet Impala Concept are two highlights of the Chevrolet charge into the 2012 SEMA Show. Chevrolet said Corvette and Camaro concepts are also on tap for the 2012 SEMA Show, "but their details are being kept under wraps until the show opens." Chevrolet has released several of its SEMA images, but did not include one of the Impala Concept as of Monday morning.

The Malibu Turbo Performance Concept gets a custom lower grille, a ground effects package and other goodies. They include a Berlin Blue Tricoat exterior paint treatment and a jet black and navy blue interior.

"It's only a vision of where the Malibu Turbo production model could go," said GM in a statement. Chevrolet designers and engineers will be "listening to the reaction it elicits in Vegas," it added.

The Impala Concept bound for SEMA features a red exterior and a black leather interior, as well as Black-Ice-tinted chrome accents, refinished exterior trim and 20-inch wheels.

The Chevrolet Cruze Upscale Concept set for SEMA includes a Burnished Brandy Metallic exterior and a brown leather-trimmed cabin. Other touches include a unique ground effects package with rocker and fascia extensions, dark-tinted windows and custom 19-inch wheels.

The Chevrolet Sonic Z-Spec 1 Concept gets a Synergy Green exterior, an upgraded exhaust system and brakes, and mesh-style upper and lower grilles. The Chevrolet Sonic Z-Spec 2.5 Concept is modified with a Chevrolet Accessories rear spoiler, Abalone White Tricoat exterior color with Z-Spec graphics and a lowered ride height.

The Chevrolet Spark Z-Spec Concept gets a body-color ground effects kit, a lowered ride height and Z-Spec body graphics in matte black. The Chevrolet Spark Sinister Concept gets rally-inspired exterior touches, including a rear diffuser with dual exhaust outlets, a rear wing spoiler and a lowered ride height.

"Z-Spec concepts could spawn limited-edition production models from Chevrolet," said GM in a statement.

Edmunds says: Chevrolet heightens the SEMA suspense by saving the best for last.
