LAS VEGAS — After revealing the Batman-inspired 2013 Kia Optima SX Limited in New York and teasing the SEMA-bound Flash edition of the 2013 Kia Forte Koup, Kia Motors America is now teasing a Green Lantern-inspired 2013 Soul that will also debut at the 2012 SEMA Show.
The Green Lantern is a DC superhero that possesses a powerful alien ring and lantern that grants him great control over the physical world. Actor Ryan Reynolds has been the latest to play the movie version of the superhero — a test pilot who belongs to an intergalactic squadron charged with keeping peace within the universe.
Kia released a shot of the front quarter-panel in the Green Lantern teaser, showing the car's the green-and-black livery, deep-dish wheels with the Green Lantern logo, a front bumper with a carbon-fiber diffuser, logo fog lights as well as modified headlights with what appears to be green projector bulbs.
Aquaman, The Flash, Cyborg and Green Lantern are the inspiration for the four Kia vehicles that will be unveiled at the 2012 SEMA Show.
A total of eight superhero Kias will be built during this 10-month partnership with DC Entertainment that intends to raise awareness for the "We Can Be Heroes" famine relief campaign. The vehicles will eventually be auctioned off to benefit the charity.
The 2012 SEMA Show runs from October 30 to November 2 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Edmunds says: By the looks of the teaser, the 2013 Kia Soul Green Lantern edition could be the most extreme superhero vehicle in the group.
