LAS VEGAS — A custom 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 created with help from comedian Jeff Dunham and dubbed "Project Ultraviolet," debuted at the 2012 SEMA Show.

The collaboration is yet another example of automakers partnering with celebrities to put a special spin on SEMA vehicles.

The modern pony car gets extensive bodywork and is covered in purple-and-black paint.

The car was made to commemorate Mopar's 75th anniversary and show off its 426 crate engine, loaded with 515 horsepower. Mopar and Dunham worked with Palmer's Customs to transform the Challenger SRT8.

Details include a Mopar T/A hood with functioning air scoop, 22-inch HRE wheels, lowering kit, rear diffuser, front and rear fascias, deck-lid spoiler as well as side skirts with exhaust outlets. A slightly larger grille, widened rear track, fender flares, headlamp lenses as well as tinted tail lights finish off the look.

The interior gets a Nappa leather treatment, body-matching trim panels and a Hurst short-throw shifter. A three-part webisode documents the creation of the vehicle on Dunham's YouTube channel.

Edmunds says: Comedian and retro car-nut Jeff Dunham must have had a blast designing this 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8.
